This combo is an amazing package by Sigma. It puts out great video in a small form factor and is Full Frame too. Used them well.

Fantastic image quality from such a small package! Heat management is great as well for a camera without a fan. I shot Fujifilm for years, and am very happy with the colors and image that come out of this camera both video and still wise.

I am taking the time to review my recent experience with Adorama. It was wonderful, I just finished trading in most of my used camera gear to upgrade for newer equipment. The staff was polite and took the time to give me a fair assessment of my equipment. I was then allowed the time to choose another camera from their vast inventory. After I chose my new equipment delivery was very quick. I would rate the whole experience as great. Am looking forward to enjoying my new camera and lens.

BEWARE! Or rather "Be Aware." I love the camera so I've given it five stars, but you should be aware that there's no charger included in the kit. They give you a few inexpensive add-ons, but no charger. Then, the proper USB charger, the Sigma BC-71, costs NINETY-FIVE DOLLARS. So that raises the cost of the kit if you want the USB charger. And you'll have to order it separately. It looks like the BC-51 (which just has a cord that goes to the wall outlet) should also work with this battery.

Video comes out very nice and pictures are decent. Very small and easy paired with small lenses and a SSD drive. For me, low light flexibility with 12bit 4K CinemaDNG raw makes up for the flaws. There's no tilt screen and the autofocus is pretty inconsistent, and the battery doesn't last very long if you're switching from a DSLR like I am. If these flaws don't affect what you need it for, I definitely recommend it.

Fantastic camera I've been looking for a small C camera to go with my ursa g2 and pocket 6kpro and so far so good. It's light Weight the batteries last an hour which is perfect for me but if you need more then thay there are a plethora of options. Image is beautiful and low light is amazing.

I great modular camera for anyone looking to build up a rig. The lack of a lilting or articulated screen and stabilization makes it a less of an everyday shooter, and almost narrows the consumer base to someone who?s intention is to put it in a rig.

I?ve always been a big fan of Sigma lenses and when I found out sigma released a Leica rangefinder style full frame mirrorless camera that can handle low light photos and videos where most other cameras don?t dare to go I knew I had to buy. This camera is so tiny I can rig it out and its barely bigger than other brands or I can leave it as is and it?s a stealthy powerhouse I haven?t been able to put it down.

This camera is a polarizing experience. On one hand, it is arguably one of the most intriguing bodies in terms of industrial design and minimalism. It is indeed well built, very customizable, and can serve many roles in both video and photo. I personally found it be a fantastic host for manual M-mount lenses without dropping dough on a Leica. After firmware 2.0 however, I have experienced an unacceptable amount of "blackouts" where the image feedback cuts out and all controls lock up until the unit is powered off. Meanwhile, the hu-11 attachment is a total crapshoot when it comes to triggering my pocket wizards -- some days it will, some days it won't. Sigma's American customer support may as well not even exists as I am constantly ghosted when inquiring about these flaws.

There are some bad reviews on YouTube, but most of those personalities don?t really shoot professional. Sigma created a super powerful cinema camera that democratizes this industry even further. There?s nothing stopping a creative person or team to produce content on par with what you see in the movies and on tv. I will relate this to how the music industry scoffed at the digital age of desktop producers. They didn?t take these bedroom albums seriously until these contributors started winning Grammys and becoming millionaires. This is what the Sigma fp/fp L is!

The one thing I regret most about the Sigma fp is that it doesn't support being powered off USB-C while in operation. The other, smaller issue is that in APS-C crop mode I've run into moire-esque sensor artifacts that probably wouldn't happen with a higher resolution. However, the relatively low sensor resolution is the price paid for the low-light performance, and that performance is great! I run this camera attached to a Blackmagic Video Assist for BRAW recording, and I'm very happy with the flexibility in post.

I’ve only had a day w/ the fp, but I am thoroughly enjoying it. Aesthetically, and build-quality wise, it’s a dream. The photo / video that I’ve been shooting w/ this camera and the 45mm kit lens are stunning. I was lucky enough that FW v2.00 was released just before I received the camera. I updated the firmware immediately, and I’ve experienced zero stability issues. The UI is really smooth. The camera and it’s menus are very intuitive; a pleasant surprise. Highly recommended. Make sure to get the SmallRig cage / grip.

First the good: Love the size. Very portable and easier to take around. Although some lenses will make the camera larger, it still takes up less space in your camera bag which is a bigger deal to me than the camera’s weight itself. The low light quality is fantastic as well. The design and layout is very simple and easy to get acquainted with. No need to read a thick manual if that’s not your thing. The Bad: Feels like a beta product. You can’t run zebras and peaking at the same time. Customization is very limited. You need full customization with the amount of buttons that are available on this small camera. Multiple crashes to the point where I had to remove the battery with v1.02. Dynamic range was bad shooting .mov video. No raw preview on camera. I understand some of the fixes are supposed to be addressed with the 2.0 firmware but for almost 2k, this camera isn’t worth it. The flaws overshadow the positives.

I've been trying to love the Sigma fp, but between some technical issues with the camera and slow responses from Sigma regarding flickering black levels during 12bit 4K video capture (on firmware 1.01 where they said it's fixed), I can't recommend the camera for serious video work. Still quality is fantastic and the camera is a low-light beast. Video clip where you can see the flickering black levels issue: https://youtu.be/gAE19PptAVQ

The world's smallest and lightest mirrorless digital camera with a full-frame image sensor
SIGMA Corporation is pleased to announce the launch of SIGMA fp, the world's smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless digital camera. The SIGMA fp incorporates a 35mm full-frame Bayer sensor with 24.6 effective megapixels in a compact body, and boasts great versatility and scalability that allows mixing-and-matching of a variety of interchangeable lenses and accessories.
It is a camera that is casual enough to take anywhere, anytime, and high-spec enough for serious still and cine shooting in the highest image quality, all in a robust and classy body. Regardless of the differences in shooting scenes and styles or genre boundaries between stills and videos, this new camera is set to expand the freedom and possibilities in image shooting and art creation further than ever before. A pocketable full-frame camera: SIGMA fp, is now available.
The environment that surrounds shooting and art creation is undergoing radical changes. In this day and age when one user may have both a high-performance interchangeable lens camera and a smartphone camera, using them flexibly according to specific purposes and settings, SIGMA stopped and questioned the inherent value of a digital camera.
As a result, SIGMA set itself to develop a user-oriented digital camera that reflected the idea of "how a camera can be" in a more flexible and true-to-life manner, without conforming to manufacturers' ideas of camera-centric categories and hierarchy.
Pocketable Full-frame
Impressive portability and power
The "smallest and lightest body possible" with which one can express their creative ideas whenever they want, combined with a "full-frame sensor" that is suitable for serious occasions without compromising on image quality, and "superb build quality" that makes the camera the perfect linchpin of a high-performance lens system.
Scalable
Versatile scalability
An "open system" that allows one to pair the camera with not only SIGMA lenses but also other lenses and accessories, whether from SIGMA or other brands, using a variety of attachments, complete with "ultimate versatility and scalability" that makes the camera adaptable to any scenes.
Seamless
Full-fledged, liberating shooting functions
A "highly intuitive UI" that allows one to move between full-fledged still and video shooting modes with just one finger, making for a "seamless and truly creative tool" that goes beyond style and genre differences.
7 shooting style suggestions with the SIGMA fp
Minimal at its basic, with maximum combination possibilities
The concept of "having the camera to suit human needs"
has opened up various shooting style choices
Here we introduce 7 shooting styles with the SIGMA fp
Smallest & Lightest Full-Frame
The SIGMA fp is the world's smallest and lightest full-frame mirrorless camera. It employs a back-illuminated 35mm full-frame Bayer sensor with 24.6 effective megapixels for high-quality images. Covered on the front and back sides with die-cast aluminum alloy for its superior robustness and thermal conductivity, the compact body of the SIGMA fp is built with a signature heat sink structure and sealing on 42 points for a dust- and splash-proof structure, making it a perfect camera to use for long hours under all types of environments. With its small body and great adaptability, the SIGMA fp enhances the joy of full-frame image quality, no matter what one's shooting settings may be.
Electronic shutter for a variety of settings
"Able to shoot whenever you want, wherever you want"-to realize this concept, the SIGMA fp incorporates a construction without a mechanical shutter for quiet shooting. This allows shooting without worrying about noise in a situation where one would have hesitated with a conventional camera because of its shutter sound. It gives no shutter shock even when shooting in quick succession at a frame rate of 18 frames/sec., eliminating even the tiniest shakes. In addition, the absence of a mechanical shutter, whose performance level can change through continuous operation, means that the SIGMA fp is a camera with improved reliability.
Superior options in artistic picture & video creations
The SIGMA fp is a frontrunner in incorporating functions that help exploring the photographic and cinematic creations. For instance, in addition to a number of different color modes, the SIGMA fp has newly introduced the "Teal and Orange" mode, inspired by the color grading technique commonly used in Hollywood films. Each mode has a slider that enables adjustment of the strength of the effects to apply, providing even greater control in one's creations.
The SIGMA fp is the first SIGMA camera to employ a tone curve adjustment function in addition to "Fill Light", a special adjustment function of SIGMA Photo Pro, and they are both available in-camera. It has also newly introduced "TONE" and "COLOR" buttons for a quick access to each of the tone control and color mode menus. With these enhanced functions and a variety of operation elements, the SIGMA fp makes it simple and easy to create an image, in-camera with great details, be it still or video.
Advanced picture & video generating technologies
The SIGMA fp employs a number of advanced technologies for image and video generation. The HDR shooting takes advantage of an electronic shutter to take multiple pictures of different exposures (3 frames for still photography and 2 frames for video) at once, which can then be merged into a single picture or video with a great dynamic range that could not have been achieved in normal shooting.
The Cinemagraph function, meanwhile, achieves a hybrid between still photography and video in the form of animated GIFs in which parts of a still image keep moving. With this function, the SIGMA fp is capable of creating Cinemagraphs in-camera. Note: The HDR shooting in the Cine mode and the Cinemagraph function are to become available via firmware update scheduled at a later date.
L-Mount
L-Mount is a mount optimized for mirrorless cameras, characterized by a short flange focal length, large diameter, and superior durability.
In 2018, Leica Camera AG, Panasonic Corporation and SIGMA launched the L-Mount Alliance, and announced that the three companies were to develop their own camera systems based around the same L-Mount standard. As an L-Mount camera, the SIGMA fp can be used with various L-Mount lenses offered by Leica and Panasonic, in addition to SIGMA lenses.
The L-Mount realilzes a camera system that goes beyond the boundaries between manufacturers, with unprecedented levels of scalability and possibilities.
Supports full-fledged filmmaking
For raw video data, the SIGMA fp supports 12-bit CinemaDNG external recording. With 4K UHD/24fps recording, it produces video data that can be used even in filmmaking. It also supports ALL-I recording which is optimal for editing H.264 compressed videos. For video output, it uses USB3.1 (GEN1), which allows a smooth data transmission to an external recording unit. As it also supports cinema camera-like user interfaces, the SIGMA fp is a camera that can be taken straight to video production settings.
Note: The feature of playing CinemaDNG footages in-camera is to become available via firmware update scheduled at a later date.
Seamless transition between Still and Cine modes
Going from the Still mode to the Cine mode at the flip of a switch. Each mode comes with a specially designed operation system and displays, making it possible to concentrate on shooting in each mode, stress-free.
