This device does what it ought to do when attached to a suitably sharp Sigma telephoto lens. (I bought a second of these to facilitate my using them with two different rigs equipped with Sigma Zoom lenses at the same time, should I choose to do so.

Excellent sharpness, works great with my 120-300 f/2.8 on a Z9 body.

A welcome addition to my Sigma 150-600mm contemporary. This teleconverter and lens combo really needs as much sunlight as you can find to allow for the shutter speeds and aperture ranges to produce a good image. I have been able to get photos of birds at a reasonable distance wheras they would normally fly away without using it. This isn't a 1200mm prime in terms of image quality, but having the range is worth it not costing 20k compared to Canons newest prime lens. Know it's limitations, ... it is fun reaching new levels of zoom, but it can be difficult to tell if the images are in or out of focus while using the eyepiece as it is darker then normal. I still recommend it even with it's limitations. Thank you Sigma for making this 2x option on top of the 1.4 converter.

It's a teleconverter that I needed so that I didn't have to spend the money on a bigger lens. I don't see any image quality issues and I would buy it again.

I'm sure this is a very nice tele-convertor but when used with a Nikon D780 and a Tamron 150-600 lens, auto focus would not work. Manual focus worked fine.

This does what it was meant to do. Definitely makes photos a bit fussier if trying to make photo a closeup.

Works well with my D850 and Sigma 150 to 600. No noticable loss in picture qulity when using manual focus. The auto focus does hunt unless you can keep it down to F8 or lower.

I was skeptical of some of the negative reviews so I thought I would take a chance and find out for myself. Using a D750 and a Sigma 150-600mm C auto focus works fine until about 600mm, then need to manual focus up to 1200mm. Manual focus isn't to hard to do once your get some practice. In live view auto focus works well right up to 1200mm. Love it, haven't taken it off the camera since I got it 3 week ago.

It is a game changer in use with the telephoto lense making pictures that otherwise would be nice into truly beautiful pictures. You will have to use the appliance offered to change the settings online for the autofocus to work smoothly and you can always opt to use manual focus.

I'm very happy that I made this purchase for the Sigma TC-1401 1.4x Tele-Converter AF for my Canon EOS Lenses and also for my Sigma 150-600mm lens!! A great combination! This is a very well made product! I haven't had a chance to use it a lot yet, but so far it has been awesome!!

Seems like the only cost of this tele-converter is one stop. It is clean and crisp. I have this one paired with a Sigma 150-600 Contemporary lens on my Nikon D850. Am planning on using it with my Nikon 28-300 also, expect great results there as well. This is something that belongs in you bag of tricks

Purchased to gain reach with my Sigma 70-200 sport and Nikon D500 to shoot wildlife. As many have reviewed this is a powerful combination. I am very pleased with the purchase which provides fast AF, tack sharp images, and flexibility to quickly extend the reach to 600 when needed.

Completing the rating just to have my name in the drawing for antique Canon 70D.The 70D was replaced with 80D which is being replaced with a 90D. It is nice to have a back up amera body.

Works perfectly with my Sigma 70-200 f2.8 and well with my Sigma 150-600 C. On a cloudy day it still AF at 600mm at times.

Used with D810 and 150-600C - comes with a small soft case but nothing to hang it, no even a way to attach to a belt - no compatibility with Nikon lens (probably a choice so you also have to buy a Nikon Tele-converter) - with Nikon Tele-converter + Nikon lens (f/4 or more) you still have the help of the AF light (green dot) to tell you about the AF. Here nothing: 2 permanent bliking arrows When reaching 1500mm (500 with the lens + 2x + DX crop) a small difference and you picture is out of focus NOT recommended with 150-600C lens

Did a lot of research on this product before ordering it. I was concerned about the quality and sharpness of the product. After reading many reviews I ordered the TC-1401 and I am so happy I did. I was not happy with the size and weight of the 150-600 lenses or the 60-600 lens and have found the Sigma 100-400 with the TC-1401 gives me close to the same focal reach without the extra weight or size. The shots I've taken so far have been sharp with vibrant color and clarity. At present, I have absolutely no regrets in getting the TC-1401. My only recommendation is that you verify that your lens will work with the TC-1401.

Even though I haven’t used it that must, It seems to do what I bought it for. That little extra reach when I need it for my eagle pictures...

Information seemed to indicate limited AF capability, but it pretty much is only manual focus with the 150-600mm Sigma Lens. At age 69, my eyes are not quite sharp enough to rely on manual focus. It would help if the focus points were active, but with the teleconverter in place, the focus points do not show up to let me know I am in focus. Also, the design of this telecoverter makes it unusable with the 18-300mm Sigma.

AUTO FOCUS WORKS PERFECT AT F/8 !
By Walter G.
Lot's of controversy over auto focusing. (will it ? or won't it. It works perfect at F/8 , mounted on the sigma 150-600mm. I was not sure how well the TC would work with the new sigma 150-600, until I tested it myself. I locked the Nikon in to aperture priority F/8 and guess what! work perfect. Fast and accurate auto focus. Auto focus is lost at apertures smaller then F/8. Not enough light for the sensor to auto focus at smaller apertures then F/8. I hope this answers the auto focus questio...
