I have 2 of these, one fits nicely on my Canon EOS R3, but I have to turn the plate backwards as it doesn't fit properly on my vertical gripped R5 as the slot the tripod slot is too short as the 1/4 20 tripod hole is positioned to the back of the grip and the plate doesn't fit flat, can this be looked into?

First off, I love the Spider products, been using them for many years. I wrote a note to inform Spider that there was a flaw in the Tether bail assembly that is an accessory for the plate. I received an acknowledgement of the defect, no further communication. I will assume they will fix this issue in future shipments of the Tether bail kit. I would have loved receiving three replacement bars correctly drilled and chamfered... (No way to attach pictures in this review) See below. RE: Hi ****, We fulfilled your order from our store Spider Camera Holster 33 days ago and would love to get your feedback. What do you think about DSLR Camera Plate? My response Jan 30: Hello, I received my order and thanks for the fast delivery. I love the quality of the plates and pins. I'm writing to inform you that the Tether Bail Accessory Kit has a small stainless "keeper" bar that holds the loop in place. I ordered three of these and they all have the same issue. These seem to be chamfered incorrectly and hole too large for the actual screws that come with it. The furnished screws, one 3mm and the other 6-32 SAE, do not seat in the hole correctly and protrude approx. 3/64ths above the surface of the keeper. (6-32 fits the camera, 3mm fits the telephoto lens foot) It seems the hole in the keeper may be chamfered 90 or 100 degrees, whereby the screws are 82 degrees. This causes the screw to bottom out on the keeper at the hole edge at the bottom. I had to re-chamfer the bar so the screw would seat and be flush with the bar so as to not cut into the camera grip. A simple way to see this is to open one of the package and set the screw into the hole. It will rotate (wobble) and not seat in the chamfered hole. (Camera: 1DX Mk II) Just FYI at this point. Thanks for your attention to this, ****

I purchased a plate for my camera when I purchased a new holster. I recently purchased a new one so that I can have both cameras by my side. Unfortunately the newest one keeps coming loose on my camera. I was recently at a wedding and thought it was add that it felt a little funny. I tightened it back up again and thought nothing about it. The next day as I was getting my gear together it was loose again. I check my old one every now and then, the new one is not quite the same. I almost want to take it off because it feels like its going to fall off on its own. I'm kind of bummed.

I've used Spider holsters for years. Very well made. They back up their gear, too. It was fast and easy to get a replacement DSLR plate from their website. Best system I know of to shift the load to your hips, absolutely necessary for a long shoot day like a wedding or a conference or event.

My Spider takes the load off my shoulders and back. I love how handy my camera (or extra), is to access. Quick and easy and saves my lower back!

The new plates are so much better the the older ones. They don’t slide. There no damage done to the bottom of my camera. It works much better with my pink spider hand straps! The camera stays put.

I have used the original version of the spider pro plate and it actually showed no signs of degrading after many years of commercial use. I couldn't resist upgrading to the new version of this and am very impressed. I did have to balance the bolting pressure of the older unit with the camera tripod mount. But the newer version greatly reduced the balance needed to secure the plate to the camera. This new version is actually a welcomed huge improvement to al already awesome camera mount.

I love my new spider holster and adapter! Even as a small person the belt first tightly and even squatting, walking and maneuvering I had no issues with fit or function. The way the adapter fits to the belt is super secure and I like how even if it is not locked it still will not fall out.

I have been using the Spider Holster at weddings for around 4 years. The new plate doesn't slip or move because of the rubber surface they added to the portion that comes into contact with the camera.

A great upgrade from version 1, The new rubber grips on the bottom hold the camera tight, and the bigger 1/4-20 bolt on the bottom won't sheer off the hex when tightening down. The new AS-RC2 tripod plates are a must have as well. Super glad I purchased.

Used it for the 2nd time on a wedding yesterday. Saves the back and shoulders greatly. DSLR on 1 side and Mirrorless on the other. No swinging and bumping cameras around. Much better when kneeling down as well. Well worth the money. After my 2nd shooter seen it and asked about it at he end of the night, hes going to order one now as well.

Like all Spider gear it is very well made. However, I do have an issue, and I'm hoping it isn't a big one, with this generic SpiderPro Plate. It fits my Wife's Nikon D7200 perfectly but not my Nikon D750. All Spider plates have raised shoulders on them to stop the plate twisting when the shoulders are pressed up against camera body. However, due to the shape of my Nikon D750 I cannot get the plate to sit square and have the shoulders resting against the body. The only way to achieve this is to twist the plate which looks odd. So, I have tightened the plate up, it seems very secure, helped by the soft rubber pads on the plate add grip, despite it not fitting as intended. I'm checking regularly to see if it is coming loose. I have a similar problem with the SpiderPro Lens Collar Plate fitted to my Nikon 70-200mm f2.8G VR not fitting as it should. ** I have to add that after using the plate on a six mile walk over rough ground recently, there is no sign of the plate coming loose. This was with the plate twisted so the shoulders are in contact with the body. I'm now going to try mounting the plate square to see how that goes. Maybe the rubber pads are sufficient to stop the plate twisting. Carrying my heavy camera on my waist instead of around my neck is so much more comfortable. The camera does stop me swinging my right arm when walking though but, I got over it. One last thing, check the tripod mounting plate holes have been drilled correctly. I had to return one plate because the holes had been drilled at an angle and my wrist strap mount wouldn't seat properly.
