This isolation mount works great with my Shure SM81. Just make sure to secure the mic cable with a cable strap or cable clamp on the mic stand to relieve the weight of the cable to keep the mic centered in the isolation mount. Some reviewers have stated the mic flops around and doesn't sit securely in the mount which is not true if you have common sense, and know how to use the equipment properly.

The shock mount really cuts do on the vibrations picked by the mic. Great for those heavy footed performers who love to pound the floor while they play. This clip Greatly reduces the sounds carried up through the mic stand.

This is a Shure stock item made for any 1" diameter microphone to isolate it from stage noise and any other outside forces. I use it on the Shure SM-81 condenser mic to help isolate noise when miking the High Hat on a drum kit, and when miking acoustic guitars. Adorama had the lowest price on the net, and it shipped the very next day. Great service overall.
