Shure N97xE Replacement Stylus for M97xE Cartridge

We moved out of Chicago, 165 miles, and along that distance the cartridge of our turntable Audio Technica cartridge got damaged. This Shure cartridge was listed as one of the compatibles, and it was pretty easy to replace the damaged one with this one. I'm glad we did and the sound is great. Nothing like the old vinyl, still.

After inheriting an old turntable, I was left finding a stylus that worked for my cart. After looking up different kinds I found the Shure and Sure enough it fit like a glove. It brought back life to my vinyl and makes for great story telling for the young ones.

I ordered this as a replacement needle for the M97xE supplied as original equipment with my Onkyo turntable and Shure HE250 (now discontinued) cartridge. When I first installed the needle, it sounded very good, but low volume. After comparing volume with the old needle, I re-mounted my new needle and added a little extra pressure to make sure it was securely mounted. I felt it click into place. This did the trick. It now sounds great and the volume is high.
