Excellent for a working but small time VO actor

Excellent device for my needs. I'm a voice over actor and wanted to use my old Zoom H5 Handy Recorder as an audio interface to connect my Sennheiser MKH 416 and macbook pro but something just wasn't working right. The mic had gain and garageband was registering the mic sound but nothing was recording. I'm no tech whiz and so after a few weeks of attempts I decided to give up on my zoom and look for a new interface. The Shure X2U is simple, small and such a relief to just plug it in and have it work well. Yes the knobs are kinda tiny, fiddly and hard to turn without using a fingernail but the no brainer aspect of using it compensates for that. I suspect I'll probably get myself a nicer interface as I get more work and reinvest money but for my current stage in VO this was perfect.

Works great - easy to use

Nice easy to use product. A bit confusing if you are someone used to lots of dials or buttons. Definitely a good buy though if you are an amateur looking for an easy way to record pro sound to your computer or laptop. You'll have to do most of the tweaking on the computer, but after that, it's just a one-dial gain operation on the X2U device.
