I purchased this based on reviews that I read online and a lot of videos that I watched on this tripod. I think it's a pretty solid tripod but it does seem to have a little too much Flex in the legs for my taste. I don't find the leg locks that great they don't seem that smooth operating I much prefer the benro leg Locking System. I have a pretty heavy medium format film camera that I'm using on this this tripod is rated for 39.7 lb I think it's over exaggerated I think it's more like probably a 25 lb tripod. There's just too much flexing going on for my taste in this tripod.

The N Series tripod has a uniquely designed leg mechanism that allows you to move the legs up to 180 deg.. This allows the tripod to be folded significantly smaller than comparably sized tripods with conventional leg designs. Simply depress the leg angle lock and invert the legs 180 deg.. An added advantage is that you can keep a ball head on the tripod and it will still fit in the included tripod case. Another advantage is that, like the N-series, the M-series can be converted into a monopod.
The New Sirui N-X Series tripods have all the features of the famous M-Series, with a few added conveniences. The new split center column makes changing from the standard center column to the short center column fast & easy! By unscrewing the hanging hook from the bottom of the center column, the column separates and the short center column remains on the tripod, ready to go. No need to remove the full-sized center column and replace it with the short center column. In addition to being a rugged tripod, it has the ability to be converted into a high-capacity monopod! This is really convenient when tripods are not allowed or when you're shooting in tight spaces. By attaching the larger portion of the split center column to the M-x series you can increase the height of the monopod.
