Q&A

Questions & Answers

Tiffany R : Can feet be added such as the Manfrotto 678 Universal Folding Base or a universal stand with feet?CHARLES M : I have been looking at adding folding legs to this monopod for a while too. A quick answer is no unless you want to hack it. The bottom rubber tip is "permanently" mounted to the last section. Un-screwing the rubber tip will switches to the metal tip. Therefore, one cannot add leg to this pod. There is a hack in the internet where the owner cut off the bottom monopod section last inch with the rubber tip. Then he epoxies two 1/4-20 nuts inside of the tip. Now you can mount any 1/4-20 part to this monopod.TERRY S : I don't see how that can be done. The rubber tip & spike are bonded onto the shaft.
Shopper : What head can you pair with this monopod?MARTIN G : I used a 3pod 1 with it.BOB L : $99.95 was little pricy but not for carbon fiber. What I concerned the most was folded lengh, it only 15" great portability. I love it.JAMES D : You can pair this monopod with really any head since it has a reversible 3/8" and 1/4" mount screw. The head base/platform diameter is 2 1/4" so you might want to factor that in your selection of a head for a cleaner, integrated look. I paired mine with a Vanguard PH-10, which makes for an excellent match.MICHAEL G : I didn't buy a head for my Sirui, instead I use the ball head (model MH 5310) that came with my Giottos tri-pod (model VGR 9255-S2C). It easily swaps between my Giottos and my Sirui.Clifford Z : Right now I am using the BENRO BH2 Ballhead for shooting sports such as baseball and football. But you can pair up whatever you like, The Monopod has threads to match up to whatever you want. I shoot with a Canon 1100D with the SIGMA 70-200mm f2.8 lens and it works fine for me. Easy to open and close and folds up pretty small. Good luck with your choice of gear. Just think before you purchase anything. The main question is, "What am I going to shoot with this equipment?"ALAIN L : Just about any, it's a standard screw mounting plate ( reversible 1/4 or 3/8). I use it screwed straight into the lense or with my Monfrotto head. Love the monopod.RICHARD L : My favorite head is the Bogen 3229 swivel head.DAVID F : I'm using a Giottos MH-1303 ballhead; it is compact and under $50.Janice K : Hi, I love my setup of the monopod and the Manfrotto Ball Head for Monopod. The ball head is more heavy duty to hold my gear... Nikon D4S and the large 70-200 F2.8. Good luck!!FRANCISCO O : The classic head for a monopod is the "tilt head,"such as the Sirui L-10, which looks like the intended companion for the P-326, and is clearly a very good value at just a bit over $100.00, with an Arca type release plate included. That said, you can also use a small ball head - Sirui makes several - which you can use on a tripod as well. Do nor forget that the P-326 has a reversible screw that allows you to mount a 1/4" or a 3/8" head. Or for that matter, to mount a camera directly, but I would not recommend doing that at all. Think about the size and weight of camera and lens you use and about the kind of shooting you intend to do using the monopod, and then look at models and prices. And have a great time taking pictures!DEBORAH L : I have a Vanguard SBH-100 that I use but its a bit big when I want to travel light, so I also have a FLM Centerball 24 I just got. Use both with either my Nikon D7000 or D600. Its a great small lightweight monopod, I highly recommend it.DENNIS K : Any small to medium ball head will work. This is a medium duty monopod and not specifically made for a huge DSLR. I use a Vanguard ball head.JERRY S : I am using a Cullman CB6.1. I use this combination when I've got my Leica Tele-Elmarit 90/2.8 on my Sony NEX-7. Neither the camera nor the lens is stabilized but this monopod/head works great.
Shopper : Why Did You Choose This?FRED C : Needed a steady camera for wildlife without the set-up time of a tripodKEVIN T : I need it.LARRY M : Portable monopod versus carrying a tripod for simple stabilizationKURT K : Compact enough to fit inside carry on luggage. Will use it on photo safari in Africa.SUSAN P : One of the recommended brands on Adorama websiteCHRISTINE N : I wanted lightweight, reduces to small size (15”) for travel and has good reviews, and great price.Byron B : because I wanted itJerry H : Nice and small great for travelTERRY C : Bought it to hold off camera speed light.KARL H : good reviews, light weight, good load capacityPaul S : Good price on highly rated carbon fiber monopodTOM T : Carbon fiber lightweight for load capacitySANDRA C : Great monopod, good priceEDUARDO G : Light weight and load capacity.Diane R : I watched videos reviews on youtube. I have a 5D mark lll, this mono pod can handle the weight. I opted for no feet, as I have my own, as well as a tripod.ROBERT T : Lightweight and compact. Recommended highly.HANSEN, S : I've heard good things in regards to this mono pod. It is light and very sturdy. A great addition to my collection.

Great monopod for the price

Great monopod. I use it to support D500 with 70-200 lense for shooting my kids sporting events. It is light easy to adjust and I equipped it with manfrotto 234 tilt head mount for more flexibility.

Nice but with a big design flaw.

Well built, light but there is s big problem. You can't replace the spike. The spike is exposed by turning the rubber tip. It on;y extends about 3/8" past the rubber tips which means the rubber will be taking a beating, especially in loose aggregate. At that point you will have more spike exposed but the spike will be exposed all the time. Only solution then is to use a crutch tip. If the spike breaks there is no solution.Write your review here. It must be at least 10 characters long. Consider whether you would recommend this product and what you like or dislike about it.

Completely happy

I have had this for some time now and I am still glad I purchased this particular one. I have used it for indoor chorus concerts and it has never failed me. I coupled it with the vanguard ball head and at times walking out to my car, made sure I hand carry it for protection. It is solidly well built.

Excellent Monopod for travel

The Sirui P-326 Monopod is very easy to use. The section locking mechanism is extremely easy to use. One quarter turn to the left and let the leg drop. Then one quarter turn to the right to lock it in place. Repeat with the other legs until the desired height is reached. It is very rigid and light. Add a Vanguard ball-head and got an excellent travel Monopod.

Solid as a Rock! Light as a Feather!

I read a lot of reviews in search of a monopod to help take steadier photos using my 100-400 Canon Telephoto Lens. The Sirui P-326 6 Section Carbon Fiber Monopod is everything it's cracked up to be. Really helps to take a steady load off when shooting.

Needed another leg.....

My old mono was injured during a football game, had to put it out of its misery. This time picked up a metal mono and should stand up better the next time I get run over on the sidelines. But I did get the TD pic.

Solid Carbon Fiber Monopod

Purchased recently, I can't speak to long term durability, but very solid carbon fiber monopod. I paired with the Sirui monopod L-10 tilt head. Looking forward to working with it more. Very light weight and compact, but certainly long enough for 6 footers even without extending fully.

Great Product

I am strictly a hobbyist with my photography. I purchased a large/heavy lens and needed a strong support pod. This is everything the sales rep. said it would be. It compacts to a very convenient travel size and is very light to pack. I'm quite sure this will be a keeper!

As Good As A Gitzo At 1/4 The Price !

The Angry Photographer was right again, there's no reason to spend big bucks in order to get a superlative monopod. I don't see how anyone could improve on this unit for build quality, ergonomics or value. I'm sorry that I didn't know about this before I spent way too much on my tripod...

Travel Companion

I bought the Sirui Monopod for both travel and hiking when I don't want or can't take a tripod. I've only had it a few weeks, but have tried it out and had my camera with heaviest lens on it, ILC about two pounds I chose the Sirui P-326 because it is Carbon , under a pound in weight and just under 16" when folded. The plate is designed to hold a tripod head or the screw is easily reversed to add the camera directly onto the monopod. Fully extended, the monopod is 60". I'm 5' 5" and have found that I won't need the last extension. The bottom has a nice rubber foot with a spiked foot that extends or retracts with a simple twist. I have an extra Sirui tripod head that I'm planning to take when traveling. I'll keep the head and monopod separate for ease in packing and carrying in my bag, putting the two together when using or carrying strapped to the bag. I will add the price was also a factor and I felt that the Sirui at just under $100 was a reasonable purchase. The monopod looks and feels very substantial and I'm amazed when I pick it up and realize how light it is.

Light and Compact.

This very light and compact monopod has everything I look for in a monopod. My first priority, when hiking or at a sporting event, is to keep the amount of equipment I am carrying to a minimum. This monopod fits nicely in my small camera bag's monopod compartment and is so light you never have to leave it home to keep your equipment load to a minimum. The quality seems excellent and I expect many years of service. On a recent tript to Canadian Formula 1 Grand Prix, the monopod was more than adequate.

Great double duty as a hiking pole

Purchased this monopod for a trip to Peru with a mirrorless camera and lenses. The camera died prior to Macchu Picchu, but someone loaned a point and shoot with extreme zoom for the day. On top of the monopod it provided a great hiking pole with easy access to the camera. The rubber tip allowed it's use on the site at Macchu Picchu, tripods are not allowed generally. I got envious looks and comments from other travelers who were trying to jockey cameras and hiking poles. Folds down to a small size that slips into the water bottle holder of my backpack, and has a carabiner to attach to the backpack for extra stability. Light, small, sturdy, what more could you want? I did not use a head but will for any other camera. I did not find it difficult to set up.

Excellent Monopod

I use my SIRUI P-326 with my Gimbal head attached for my Sigma 150-500mm and D5100 while out in my boat, much lighter and more compact and quicker than tri-pod, very quick to set-up while sitting or standing. Great for grandsons baseball games no need to fumble around with tri-pod, just set-up camera on SIRUI P-326, and shoot away. Getting much sharper photos. Very sturdy, light weight, and easy to lock sections. Very happy! Oh! and the spike on the end works great, very strong don't have to worry about wearing out the rubber end when outdoors, even the compass is almost accurate. I do have one complaint, the strap is made cheap, mine is un-sewing, but will sew with nylon thread. other than that I have no other complaint.
