Exceptionally well-corrected chromatic aberration and sagittal coma flare
Through the use of SLD glass, high refractive index glass with high anomalous dispersion characteristics, and four glass-molded double-sided aspheric lenses, this lens achieves correction of axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma flare, resulting in both a significant size reduction and enhanced optical performance.

Compared to the previous model, the Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art, which has an established reputation for performance, the new lens offers improved performance across a wider area from the center of the image, allowing photographers to make full use of its F1.2 maximum aperture.

Beautiful bokeh
Thorough correction of axial chromatic aberration and sagittal coma flare contributes not only to the sharpness of the image plane but also to the bokeh effect. The lens delivers beautiful bokeh without color fringing, double-line bokeh, or any other irregularities from its maximum aperture. The 11-blade rounded diaphragm maintains a circular bokeh shape even when the aperture is stopped down.

Compact and lightweight

Advanced optical and mechanical design
Thanks to the optical and mechanical design incorporating the latest technology, the new 35mm F1.2 II DG | Art is significantly smaller and lighter than the previous model, the 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art. The filter diameter has been reduced by two sizes, from Diameter 82mm to 72mm, the overall length has been shortened by approximately 20%, and the weight has been reduced by approximately 30%. Compared to the 35mm F1.4 DG DN | Art, this is a compact F1.2 large-aperture wide-angle lens that has achieved almost the same overall length despite having a brighter F-number.

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art achieves optical performance surpassing that of previous models by adopting a floating focus configuration that moves two focus groups independently. Furthermore, by using four aspherical elements and glass with a high refractive index, and through making each lens element thinner.

The Sigma 35mm F1.2 DG II | Art adopts the dual HLA (High-response Linear Actuator) system that drives each of the two focus groups with individual linear motors. In addition, the use of multiple magnets in each motor enables a compact design for the focus unit while maintaining high thrust. Compared to conventional cam-driven systems, this is significantly lighter, and at the same time enables fast and quiet autofocusing.

Incorporation of an aperture ring and minimal focus breathing
As with previous models, an aperture ring is provided for intuitive aperture setting operation. The aperture ring is equipped with a click switch, which allows smooth aperture adjustment with the click turned off during video recording.

An aperture ring lock switch, not included on the 35mm F1.2 DG DN | Art, has also been added to prevent accidental shifting to the A position during aperture operation. The floating focus minimizes focus breathing, making the lens suitable for video recording.
