About Sirchie 500ml Hungarian Red

The Sirchie 500 mL Hungarian Red is a recently discovered, aqueous solution used for staining impressions found in blood. Among its many advantages over other staining compounds is that it is much safer to use due to its water-based formula, produces exceptional staining and is easily lifted using Sirchie's GELifters.

A unique characteristic of Hungarian Red is that lifted traces fluoresce under green light (520 nm-560 nm) from an alternate light source. Even when found on dark or confused backgrounds, weak traces fluoresce strongly. Hungarian Red may be used on porous or non-porous surfaces.
