Nice builtin fisheye correction. 4K/24 frames pretty good quality. 54 minutes on one battery. I ended up buying 4 generic batteries and a dual battery charger on Amazon. Compatible with GoPro accessories, other than cases...

My intended application for this camera is in caves. While I have not yet tried it underground I have tried it out side at night with a 300 LED flood light. Results were disappointing. I have it mounted on the side of a rock climbing helmet but even with the screws tightened the fixture tends to slip some. I expect this will be worse in a cave. I would not recommend it for my application.

I have been using Go Pro cameras and a couple of Knock offs, but I have been hearing about the SJ models and gave this one a try. I love it. Less than half the price and all the Functions of a Go Pro Hero 4 Silver. Plus, replacement batteries can be bought anywhere, and usually jump from camera to camera, which is something Go Pro stuff Can't do. I use these cameras to shoot my playing the Drums when at shows or rehearsal. Now, because of these inexpensive units, I now have 5 cameras to get all kinds of angles. Definitely worth the $$$

Just got this. Tried it out a little with the grandkids. Takes great quality video. Can't wait to try it out next month in Aruba. Snorkeling and parasailing. Also takes 4K video. Uses more battery power. So ordered 2 spares with a charger.

At first I was very skeptical. I researched this little camera for hours. Reading some of the negative reviews, I was even more hesitant to purchase one. Then I logged onto Sjcam's web site, sjcamhd.com . I looked at the site for some time. Noticed a very intensive forum, with active members, and a plethora of very useful information. A huge plus to SJcam THEY DO UPDATES TO THEIR PRODUCT FIRMWARE !!!!!!!!!!!!!. This is huge for someone who wants their money to be spent wisely. I emailed a few of the people that had been using the 5000X Elite for over a year, 2 people got back to me they were both very glad I contacted them and had very good things to say about the camera, Well, I jumped in. All the features listed on the site are indeed what this little camera has in it. The zoom is optic so after 6x it starts to pixel out, the wifi is at best 10m if you are lucky, image stabilization is a bit tricky it barley hold but is does function. I do like the MP4/MOV format selection. I prefer the MOV format myself. Car mode is nice, sortof. There is not a windshield sucktion adapter with this kit but you can purchase one for around $20 and then you could use this as a dash cam. The FOV ( field of view ) option is amazing. I really like being able to select the 170 deg. to 70 deg. views. Some things just look better not in wide angle. THAT BATTERY COVER IS STILL A PAIN!!!! After spending a good while learning the functions of the camera I was off and running, OH YAH DO THE LATEST UPDATE EXACTLY AS INSTRUCTED, you will be better off for it. Loved the easy of use, easy to understand program, picture quality is very surprising. Except for close up ( >10 inches ) it tends to fall apart and get blurred out, video does this as well. The camera does a good job. It really captures real life colors and shadows. This camera is sketchy on being a PC cam though, It does OK with the right program but it is very unstable and the mic control is not very good. This could just be my computer but I wanted to tell you what I have experienced. Still having a hard time getting used to the light transition to dark, it is a bit, well, what you would expect from a sub $200 action camera, but suitable performance can be achieved with some practice. Battery life is pretty pathetic in 1080 60fps mode ( >50 min record time with lcd off ), but for $15 you can have a couple extra batteries charged and ready to go. Overall I am very impressed with this camera. It is the second in my " SJ " style action cameras. My first was a very cheap SJ4000 imitation, what a waste of money........... This SJcam 5000x Elite will not disappoint you, as long as you understand it is NOT A GOPRO AT ALL. When I get some short clips up on youtube I will edit this review so you can see the quality using the default set up.

This is an extremely awesome device! I highly recommend it. It's a real SJCAM and its the best kind of Action Cam that Sony makes. It shoots in 4k, 2k, and 1080p 60fps!!! If you don't have $500 to spend on a GoPro Hero 4 Black... then this is really right up there next to it in terms of video capturing abilities. This was a great buy! It's an SJCAM 5000x Elite. It only came with one battery but for what it does there is no complaining. Really 60fps HD is much more important than resolution past 1080p, but it's also nice to have a really high resolution capturing ability if you need it.
