I used to have a 10? dob, so my opinion may be clouded by the jaw dropping views that scope gave. I bought the 130 because I wanted a grab and go with a small storage footprint that still provided good views. It packs down relatively small and the mirrors seem to be of good quality. I?m able to pick out the Messier objects, and the moon looks great even without a filter The objects don?t quite glow like they did in my other dob, but I can still make them out with averted vision etc... I don?t like the focuser. It works, but the screw action is awkward and slower. Another gripe is the red dot finder seems to not stay in alignment when bumped (I may have stripped the screw holding it on the mount), cheap plastic. I like the truss design and overall function. It?s perfect for what I wanted. For most people considering this scope, I?d steer them to the 6 inch Orion Skyquest (or better, the 8inch) being more user friendly with a better f ratio and no need to set on a table
