David R : is there a gps module for the allview mount?Jeffrey M : There is a GPS offered thru SkyWatcher Canada only. But to be honest, you don't need it. You can get your Longitude and Latitude and time easily from your cell phone and input is super easy. I wouldn't spend the money. The GoTo and tracking work very well. Enjoy.Clifford T : It can be used with the optional SynScan GPS receiver, but I do not own the SynScan so I cannot comment on how it works with it.
Marc N : Can Allview Mount take 360 spherical panoramas? (360x180 shots). If so then I am definitely buying this!STEVE B : I think my previos answer got cut off. If you want to do gigapixel shots with this you will need to use papywizard.STEVE B : Yes it will do 360x180, unless you have a crazy lens combination that is too big to point up. The firmware on the controller has some limitations as to the maximum number of snaps so if you want to do gigapixel shots you will need to use papywizard.ANDREW R : Unfortunately the manufacturer does not specify. They do indicate 360 degree panning, however they do specify the amount of tilt (pitch).

  • Capture full 360 degree panoramas with a DSLR or most point-and-shoot cameras
  • Capture motion time lapse movies with your DSLR while the mount rotates
  • When shooting video with a camcorder or DSLR, use AllView as a motorized panning head for smooth motion
  • Attach any small telescope (using the standard 1.75" dovetail bar) and the mount's Go-To electronics will find any of 42,000 celestial objects and automatically center and track them in your eyepiece
  • Electronic shutter release - automatically triggers your DSLR when shooting panoramas or time lapse images
  • Dual encoder technology - allows you to move the mount by hand or using the hand control and without losing alignment
  • 3/8" tripod socket for mounting to virtually any prosumer tripod
