Haven't had a single issue with this mount (Williams Optics Zenithstar 61 w/ ASI533MC Pro + 120 mm guidescope) able to run sub second guiding. EQ Mod cable with ZWO Asiair Plus connects flawlessly.

A nice product but a missing part or two including T bolt for altitude adjustment and broken plastic counterweight lock nut, both not easy to replicate at home.

Awesome mount for the money. Tracks great using PHD2. I can easily get 10 minute exposure or longer without star trails.

I did a lot of research on equatorial mounts before settling on the Skywatcher HEQ5. I then researched the best deals on the web. Adorama won hands down. After ordering, the mount arrived in two boxes in a timely manner. I set the mount up per the instructions--which was very easy. I was pleased that the equatorial head was a manageable weight. I attached my 80mm APO to the mount, and my Orion Autoguider and 50mm guide scope. It only took one of the two counterweights to nicely balance my equipment. I'm am incredibly happy that I didn't spring the cash for a more heavy-duty (heavier) mount now. This will be very portable and will suit my needs perfectly. I have always believed that the best telescope setup is the one you will use the most. I have owned enough equipment over the years to realize that the more hassle something is to transport and setup, the less likely it will be used. This is the perfect setup for portable astrophotography! Thanks Adorama! Mark Swain

Very stable mount for visual observing and astrophotogrpahy. The Polar scope LED must be adjusted (lowered vis Utility menu) in order to use it. The polar alignment coordinate feature makes it easier to locate POlaris in the polar scope. Go-to performance is generally okay, but not as good as with the Celestron mounts. The belt drives used for the Declination and R.A. drives are virtually silent. All things considered, a good value and good mount.

Haven't had a single issue with this mount (Williams Optics Zenithstar 61 w/ ASI533MC Pro + 120 mm guidescope) able to run sub second guiding. EQ Mod cable with ZWO Asiair Plus connects flawlessly.
A marvel in the world of astronomical equipment, the Sky-Watcher SynScan HEQ5 GoTo Equatorial Mount is designed to cater to both novice and expert astronomers. This advanced, computerized mount offers high-precision tracking and comes equipped with built-in autoguider ports, making it an ideal choice for those seeking accuracy in their celestial observations and astrophotography.
This sleek yet sturdy HEQ5 Pro mount is a compact version of the robust EQ6 Pro mount, designed specifically for observers who require the stability of the EQ6 Pro but prefer a less physically demanding setup. Its user-friendly menu allows for automatic slewing to over 42,900 celestial objects, enabling even the most inexperienced astronomers to master its diverse features in just a few observing sessions.
The SynScan Hand Control of the HEQ5 Pro mount offers the convenience of connecting to a computer via an RS-232 cable. Once connected, it can be controlled using various commercially available planetarium software programs, enhancing your stargazing experience.
The HEQ5 GoTo Equatorial Mount boasts a positioning accuracy of up to 1 arc minute, further enhanced by software collimation error compensation. It employs stepper motors with a 1.8° step angle and 64 micro steps driven, ensuring smooth and precise movements. The mount also features an Auto Guider Interface for astrophotography and a comprehensive object database containing the complete Messier, NGC, and IC catalogs.
Designed for steady long-exposure photography, this mount minimizes vibration and includes a Periodic Error Correction feature. It has a motor resolution of 0.144 arc sec (or 9.024,000 steps/rev), and operates on a power supply of 11 to 15 V DC 2Amp (Tip positive).
The HEQ5 Pro mount comes with a gear ratio of 705 and an 8" dovetail bar. It weighs 15kgs without counterweights, stands 35cm tall, and the mount itself weighs 10kgs without the counterweight. The counterweight shaft is made of durable stainless steel, measures 21.5cm in length, and has a diameter of 1.8cm. The mount is supported by a tripod with stainless steel legs for added stability and includes a Polar Scope.
In summary, the Sky-Watcher SynScan HEQ5 GoTo Equatorial Mount is a high-quality, durable, and advanced piece of equipment that offers a seamless and precise astronomical observation and imaging experience.
