Good Value - Strong Tripod
I used to have one of the SLIK Able tripods about 15 years ago, and I gave it to my brother-in-law. I had been perfectly happy with it back then. Well, I had gotten a more expensive Manfrotto after that and unfortunately the center column release broke(still usable, but with difficulty)...moreover, it was not particularly stable and I was tired of the four piece leg system. Good quality for the price
I'm trying to start a jewelry business on line, and this tripod has helped a great deal in getting my photos just right!
The SLIK 300DX is designed to meet the wide ranging needs of today's "go anywhere" serious enthusiast, professional still photographer or videographer. The 300DX combines the perfect balance between a location tripod, with its compact size and easy-to-carry weight, and the strength and versatility normally expected with larger studio versions. It fully supports up to 11 pounds (5.0kg) of equipment. The professional, black anodized finish is standard and provides a low reflective surface.
With a maximum operating height of 61.25" (1550mm) and a folded length of only 25.75" (655mm), the 300DX is designed to set-up quickly and easily in the studio or on location. The 3-way pan head features an omnidirectional quick release camera mount, as well as precise, individual locking controls for pan and tilt movements.
The "Lift n Lock" center column features an easy-to-grasp oversized locking collar, for fast setup and breakdown. Unique to the 300DX tripod are its sealed-channel "D" shaped leg extension segments. There provide exceptional strength while assuring zero rotational movement or "twist." Individual, three-position leg-angle locks allow unusual terrain adjustments or for low angle camera use.
The 300DX is further enhanced with the addition of a tough, protective, clear-coat on leg extensions and center column. Rubber leg tips provide maximum traction outdoors and necessary protection to surfaces indoors.

- Reversible Center Column -Gearless feature allows "upside down" posioning of center column for copy work.
- Super low camera height of 35cm with use of optional short center column.
- Minimum camera height is 47cm with standard center column. Optional short center column brings the height down to 35cm above ground.
