I lost the quick release adapter from my tripod and would like to know if this can be a replacement.ROBERT G : I don't think so, it is small in size. 1 1/2" x 1 1/4" across the bottom measure your tripod size.GW JAY T : probably not it's very small 1" square

The plate for that is 45mm X 35mm at the bottom and 35mm x 35mm above just under the plate.JAMES R : The Slik DQ-10 clamp opening is 40mm x 31mm maximum when open and therefore will not accept your 45mm x 35mm plate, let alone close on it!JAMES R : The Slik DQ-10 plate is 40mm x 30mm at the bottom and 34mm x 26mm at the top. The metal part of the plate is 6mm high. I am sure that the Slik-DQ-10 plate is too small to work with the Slik 511QF clamp.VLADIMIR I : The plate for Slik DQ-10 is 40mm X 30mm. I think it does not fit a Slick 511QF.mironel d : Sorry I meant will the Slik 511 plate fit this quick-release base. The plate for that is 45mm X 35mm at the bottom and 35mm x 35mm above just under the plate.

great quick release platform for point and shoot cameras

great quick release platform for point and shoot cameras. i added to a Cullmann 200T (also bought from Adorama) tripod. the match is great in conjunction with my G9 Canon. quick, easy, positive catch and makes set-ups much easier. the only problem is the release covers part of the battery cover/ data card compartment-BUT that's not Slik's fault. if you need to add a quick release system to an existing tripod head to use with a point and shoot/compact camera i think you'd be hard pressed to find a better system than the little DQ-10.
