Shopper : Hi, I'm needing to use this with my cannon EOS digital camera. Does this work for cameras or just video cameras. I'm hoping that the tripod bracket thats already on my camera would snap right into the bracket thats on the monopod. without having to change brackets, I could go back and forth from my tripod to the monopod without having to change out the bracket on the bottom of my camera. Can I do that with this monopod?VICTORIA H : My tripod bracket will not fit this monopod. I don't know if others do or not.Jerry K : Jerry K: In photography, most everything is a trade-off. Pick a small aperture and you'll need a longer exposure. No, you will not be able to use your tripod bracket on this monopod. But you should be very happy with this item if you want to use it for your still photography, and switch mounting plates. I bought this monopod specifically for travel. I wanted it to be well-made, small enough to put in limited luggage, strong and versatile enough to be worth using. I have been around photography for many years. I have bought a lot of useless "stuff" because I didn't do my homework. After looking at everything on the market, this one fit every need I had, at least on paper. Now that I have used it I can assure you that it surpassed my expectations!Glo M : This is a great monopod! It's compact, sturdy, and I love the handle for moving it about a foot up or down quickly without having to fiddle with the extensions. As far as the head, what I did was get a ball head and mounted that to the monopod, so you could find a head that matches what you have on your tripod and put that on the monopod and then you would have interchangeability with the plate. Good luck, you won't regret the purchase.JIM W : My guess would be no on the interchangeability but yes it will work for a still camera. The mount is 1.380W and 1.75L and has the > angle if you know what I mean. I hope that helps! Also, if you are tall, this is on the hairy cusp of being too short. the entire construction is plastic but I am 6' 4" tall and it is a little too short. It has a spring loaded handle that is an OK feature.

Compact and easy to use

I had one years ago and used it to death. These are great for hikers when you find something you just want to get but need something a bit more stable than you.

Slik E-Z monopod

This is a great monopod. I use it with my D3S and all my lens. Even with my Nikon 70-200 VRll lens this monopod has worked fabulously.

Great, but a little short

I agree with all the good things that others have said about this monopod. It sets up quickly and improves your photography. I do a lot of outdoors shooting in low light. My only wish is that it were a bit longer. It's fine if you are under 6 feet tall, but tall people will need to spread their legs out in order to get low enough to look through a viewfinder. It works OK, but another three inches would make it perfect. I give it 5 stars for people shorter than 6 feet. Four stars for taller people.

For years the EZ POD has been the choice of video enthusiast around the world to record special events in their families lives. The kid's big game, that once in a lifetime speech at a wedding, or family reunions, record all these events and many more with much less bounce or shake to the video by using the EZ POD.

The SLIK EZ POD is the original spring-loaded monopod for easy, one handed fine adjustments of height.

The top section is made up have a handle that is thicker than a normal monopod making it easy and comfortable to grip. Within the handle is a spring loaded top section that allows the user to make the final height adjustments easily with just one hand. One of the buttons releases the spring so the height can be adjusted up or down about 5 inches, the other button locks the spring into place once the perfect height has been reached.

Other great features of the EZ POD include a folding foot brace to keep the bottom of the monopod secure in any surface. A quick release plate allows for fast mounting and un-mounting of a video camera. 5 legs section mean that this monopod folds down to a very compact 18 inches.
