Solidly built. Easy to use. My first monopod, maybe the only one I will ever need? Took it in my pack on some hiking and birding trips. Not the smallest when collapsed, but full extension is very nice. Ball head works well. That part is easily replaceable if necessary.

I bought this item as a gift for my daughter who is an avid hiker. She also uses it in museums where permitted. It's sturdy enough for most digital cameras and some DSLRs / SLRs.

Using this monopod to stabilize a Nikon 70-200mm AF-S f2.8 lens for ice hockey action shots. It works well and is more than strong enough to support my lens & camera combo. The included ball head is a nice feature that gives this monopod added value. It is not the most compact or the lightest of weight but at [$] it is a very good value.

This is a solid little monopod for a great price! It is very light and compact. I have used it mainly for sports, and I removed the ballhead so I could mount my lens collar directly to the monopod. My only minor complaint is I wish it were a little taller; I am 6'3" and it could use another few inches for me. Of course I would just about be there if I put the ballhead back on, but then it wouldn't be nearly as stable and solid!

This is a very good product that I have been using for a few months now, since I received it as a Father's Day gift. It is lightweight, easily adjustable and very sturdy and excellent for everyday use.

This is a reasonably priced monopod for what you get. Slik continues to toe the fine line of cheap but quality construction for a good price and sturdy products a bit more expensive but reasonable. If you are a walk around photographer this should be in your bag. I could probably due without the ball head on a monopod but thats personal opinion. Buy this... use it... It won't be the greatest thing in your pile of gear but it's something you'll be happy to have.

The more I use the monopod the more I wonder how I managed without it! Simple and quick to set up and use, lightweight, sturdy. Love it!

This is a wonderful monopod that is very easy to carry. Very rigid and the ball head, though smallish, is quite robust. Opens super quickly and is so compact you tend to take it than leave it.

Works well with small and med lenses. It's a little unstable with my 200-500mm lens but you can take the ball head off.

I bought this for travel/hiking, possibly some sports photography in the future. I haven't been able to use it in the field yet, but have messed around with at home some. For the money, it exceeded my expectations upon receipt. My only minor complaint so far is that the cork material at the top of the ballhead which "protects" the camera seems to be slightly wearing in spots, after mounting the camera only once. Maybe I over-tightened, not really sure. There appears to be no lost functionality because of this...I just wonder about its future durability. However, for the price, I would not hesitate to purchase this again.

I ordered a monopod for a street photo. I just want to see the difference between this one and a tripod. I also did not want to spend +100 for a high-end monopod, so this one is perfect for me. Looks and feels solid, easy to open clamps and light. Tripod is better if for long exposures but to stabilize your camera better than your hand it's worth of your attention.

Perfect heigth for me 5' 10". Light weight and sturdy. Only con is the ball is plastic, so I try to avoid over tightening. I plan to use it for my nephew's graduation (in crowds).

I bought the Slik monopod after several years of experience with the lightweight, inexpensive Slik 6000 tripod. I was a bit concerned that a light weight monopod in this price range might not be strong enough to hold a DSLR with a long lens. The Slik has performed well in the field and I recommend it for anyone who needs only a slight stabilization at shutter speeds that are only a bit longer than hand held. Obviously at this price there are no extras, just light weight and convenient. The ball head is a plus, but not nearly professional quality. Some kind of foot stabilization would have been nice, either a point, or floating foot. But, for the price, it's a good deal.

I can't leave home without my monopod. Excellent addition to my gear and works great when using a 200m or 300m telephoto lens. This really works in very tight places and have produced consistent quality sharp images and have eliminated any blurs from my pictures. One of the best equipment I have in my bag ... a must have for any serious hobbyist or enthusiast.

"Must-have" gear if you're shooting insects in the wild - and good for birds, too. I'm on my second one, having lost the first, I couldn't get a replacement soon enough! Regardless of monopod manufacturer, do get a ball head for still cameras. One's included here, and at a low price.

I admit that I am a SLIK fan! I have Sprint Pro 3Way and Mini Pro III tripods. The Slik Lighty Pod III Monopod w/SBH-100 Ball Head rounds out my stablization needs.
