**It would have been 5 stars but the way the transaction ended up reduced it to 4 stars.  This was for my wife as a birthday present.   She has the Slip Pro tripod, and the monopod compliments her kit.  The price is a bit high, but for quality you expect to pay more.  The way it was delivered, however, was not great.  It was left outside our door resting on a screen window, and being a large package, there was a risk it could have been stolen.  The box was also banged up quite a bit, and the paperwork was crumpled up and thrown in the box.  Kind of disappointing for something that isn't really that cheap.

This is the second one I purchased, I wore out unit number one. Extensive use and 5 good years, No problem handling 10lbs of gear in all weather conditions. That's why I purchased the exact one again.

I do not have experience with other monopods, so I am not an expert.  However, this item is strong and very well made.  I added the SBH-200DQ ball head which adds to the weight, but increases functionality.  I am pleased with my purchase.

Strong but not light

I own the Slik Pro 700 DX tripod so when it was time for a monopod I researched what Slik had to offer. I found the Pro Pod 600 and liked the reviews. I am not a fan of twist locks for the leg and really like the lever locks like my Pro 700 DX - easy to use and very dependable.When Big Brown delivered the package I was immediately surprised as to how light the Pro Pod 600 is. Unfortunately I gave it only 4 stars because it does not come with a ballhead, just a flat head with no adjustment. Something else I have to get. Otherwise a great product.

Great product

The quick release latches make set-up and break-down a snap. Nearly instantly I am set up and my friends are still twisting on all three sections of their monopods and trying to get the height setting correct. They are the ones that look at me and comment on my system. This is my second one and they are great.
