RICHARD R : I have a recently purchased Canon EOS Rebel T6i (w) camera, and a Slik U-112 tripod that I've had for decades. Will this quick release post work for my set-up?
DEBRA R : I just purchased a used Slik U212 tripod. I am a beginner and I thought it would come with all the parts however, it did not come with a way to attach my camera. Is this the part I need to attach the camera to this tripod?MARCIA L : Yes, I do believe this is what you are looking for. It's always good to have an extra one in case you lose it, too! The threading goes into the camera (with the camera upside-down) and then drops into the tripod and locks into place.KARL S : Assuming your camera has the threaded hole in the bottom (all cameras use the same size hole), Yes, This is the right part.ROBERT R : Debra

Yes. This is what you need. They are easy to lose track of so I bought one extra to insure that I would have ones in reserve. I have 2 camera’s also but one I never use on a tripod but you never know! The tripod is a classic so be aware of its difficulties but once you have learned how to use it properly it is one of the best I have had. I also have a Manfrotto and a large heavy wooden tripod and a Sllk that I bought in 1975. I am surprised that ONE wasn't included with the tripod.JOHN C : You must have bought a used tripod that is about 10 years old or older, Yes that is the part that attaches to your camera to make it so that it quick releases from the tripod. I have had my Slik tripod for over 10 years and it works great, it is as good as when I bought it. I am not a professional photographer and only use the tripod for personal and family fotos.ROGER S : Yes this is the correct part. Screw onto bottom of camera then insert into top of tripod. Pull quick release lever back to insert or release, turm lever clockwise to tighten.MARVIN M : Yes it isJOHN H : Most camera's have the ¼-20 mounting hole and this the attachment needed to use on the U-212. I suggest you get 1 or 2 extra in case of loss.TED W : Yes. That should work. The posts are easy to loose. I know this from experience. That is probably my biggest complaint about that tripod. Other than that, it gave me years of good service. After I lost the first post, I bought two just to have one as a back-up. As you know, the tripod is useless without it and they don't cost that much.

MY U-212 TRIPOD IN GREAT SHAPE
After losing my Stik quick release post for my U-212 tripod several years ago, I kept it in the closit and finally ran across it, the tripod, and decided to put it back to work again. The tripod was and still is in great shape, and now I am very happy I kept it.

I can use my tripod again!
After spending more than an hour looking for the missing piece, I was pleased to find this replacement part available for a tripod I’ve used for decades. The tripod’s no use without it. The same part is available at the same price directly from the manufacturer, but Adorama’s shipping charge was lower. The package arrived within the projected time, as promised.

Does what it should,for a unique tripod
I found a slik tripod at a flea market, but it did not have the quick release post,I like the sturdiness of the slik tripod and the tiny size of the release post,the down side is its easy to misplace

Excellent Quality
I have had a Slik Universal 212 Deluxe for better than 16 years and find it to be a very stable and reliable tripod. I like the fact that the head can be removed from the top of the column and placed on an attachment point on either one of the legs or the bottom end of the column. This makes it good for getting down low to the ground. As I am 6'2" the column extends to a comfortable height for me to use. The only drawback to it is that at six (6) pounds, it is rather heavy, so carrying it around in the field can be a bit tiring.
