I don't love it but I like it. It is everything they said it was. I think for the price it's awesome.

You get what you paid for, hard to find a new wide angle lens with this price tag. The lens does its job well during the day but the vignette and distortions on the corners are very obvious. A sufficient lens for some fun shooting.

Well worth the cost. A bit soft, but I expected to see that at this price.

Great lens, the only down fall is that you must bring a set of filters with you, if you are planning to shoot outside (with day light for the exposure). Otherwise it is a great WIDE lens, great for action and dance shots...

Came with screw broke, the screw to tighten the focus ring is so small and thin, there's a big chance it'll break

Great little (literally), fully manual, rectilinear wide-angle lens with sharp center and slightly softer edges. But for the price I can't really complain... though it'd lose a star it if was more expensive. It has a fair bit of distortion but that's easily fixed in post -- RawTherapee (free RAW processor) even has a correction profile for this lens. Because of it's diminutive size it pairs nicely with a small (and ideally IBIS enabled) camera body like the GX85. I used this combo on a recent trip and was pleasantly surprised, producing images I liked more than those taking with more expensive Panasonic lenses at similar focal lengths... the price probably had something to do with it.

My lens came with a tiny nick on it. Despite that, this lens is super versatile for the type of work that I do. Since it’s effectively a 16 mm equivalent, I can film real estate videos. The lens flares are also really nice. The things I don’t like about this lens is that there isn’t a hood that comes with it. If you have a light directly overhead you’ll get a lot of light leak which isn’t great if you want a natural look. Also, the aperture ring is pretty difficult to move. I kind of wish that SLR magic would make an adapter to made it a little bigger. It’s way too hard to move it without changing the focus. I’d recommend this lens for someone who isn’t super serious about video or a professional that just needs a quick ultra wide fix.

Actually seems a bit faster than f4. I actually overexposed a couple of shots inside a very dark log cabin. It is a bit soft in the corners as other reviewers note and if there is any barrel distortion (which I'm sure there is) I haven't noticed it. I finally have a reasonably priced super wide angle lens and I'm very happy.

I bought this lens as an inexpensive UWA for my GX85. It fits the bill perfectly. Stop it down to 5,6-8 and you'll get amazingly sharp photos with minor (i.e. correctable) vignetting in the corners. Handling can be a bit difficult in the beginning, I set the aperture once and use the front most part of the barrel to focus, this works great with focus peaking and the loupe enabled.

The SLR Magic 8mm is a highly understated piece of MUST HAVE equipment for any level film making. Essential for Gimbal and low light conditions, it adds a cinematic touch to every shot, which matches easily with most other high end lenses. Don’t be fooled by the low price - this lens packs a mighty punch and worth every cent.

It was cheap so I was not expecting much but it was not even usable because it was lacking in sharpness so much. Half the image was just a blown out smudgy blur. Also, the anti-glare coating on the front was already rubbed half way off when I got it. Not even worth buying as a cheap lens.

Excellent lens for the BMPCC. Clear shots, minimal cropping. Great value as we’ll considering lenses can be a very expensive purchase. Well worth the investment.

At Adorama price, I would add this 8mm manual lens to your budget BMPCCX 4K kit. Great to learn how to use a manual lens and small enough to carry in your pocket. A perfect pocket lens for your pocket cinema camera.

Love the image and how wide of an angle it gives on a relatively small sensor. Wish it was slightly larger but otherwise great build and quality.

Does the job well. This all metal lens has a snug fit on my OM-D E-M5II. It is very nearly rectilinear - distortion is invisible unless there are straight lines at the edges of the frame. In my copy maximum sharpness is at the infinity focus stop. The lens comes with a 52 mm adapter and a very slim glass protective filter. The close focusing provides some interesting effects. It takes up little room in your bag or pocket. It's a great little lens, highly recommended.

Bought it as a backup for my wife's Canon w/ EF-S 10-18mm. For focusing, the magnify function works best, because the depth of field is so large peaking is pretty unusable.

the distance markings are well done, but aperture markings are not so well done here even with the clickless varietyI just shot with it and it was not particularly sharp first time going out. item is low priced,
