Lightweight and precised... Just what I was looking for for my Olympus MD5 II.

Bought this to use with a lightweight monopod. Am using a mirrorless camera for video that will use the ballhead unlocked to allow easy movement while being supported on the monopod.  Will use the combo while seated in Safari vehicle.

My Olympus and 100-300 (200-600) lens weighs 2.0 lbs.  ballhead rated at 2.5 lbs.   works fine.

High Quaility

Changed the three way head for this one for more convenience.
I am using a Nikon D40, one of the smaller cameras.
Haven't had any problems with the head.
Though it is sometimes tricky to position the camera and the clamp when trying for a portrait frame.

Nice ball head for tripod

When I nest the quick-release plate that automatically trips the cam lock, the camera is retained but with a little play.  Further snugging the cam lock removes the play.  Not sure if this is by design but it's not real a problem - especially for the price.  Very smooth articulation for an inexpensive ball head.

I use it with a knob on bottom for video with my G9. I call it  a knob pod.

This is a very nice, inexpensive but sturdy ball head.  I really like the quick release.  I leave the plate on my camera all the time, as it's small and doesn't get in the way.  I have this ball head on my Slik monopod as well as my table-top tripod.  I use the bigger ball head (SBH-120DQ) on my full-size tripod.

Nice ball head

Got it to use on my Leki Walking stick that can double as a monopod.  Supports my FZ35 well when I zoom the lens all out.  Wish it has 3/8" mounting, but for the price, its OK. Very lightweight compared to Manfrotto 482 ballhead on my table tripod.  How reliable it is, time will tell.

Cheap & Good

Let's say I'm frugal ("cheap" sounds so tacky), so this little ball head let me convert a really inexpensive (<$20) video tripod into a fully functional light-weight still-photography tripod; video tripods don't let you change platform orientation. My Nikon D70 weighs 2.5#, so the ball-head's 3.5# limit is just fine. I highly recommend this ball head for other frugal photographers. The 1/4-20 female thread allows it to be adapted to any tripod...inexpensive or otherwise.
