I got this tripod to use with a cell phone for night photography. It works very well for this. I have not yet tried it with a heavier camera, but it should be OK. Adjustments are easy and work smoothly except for the crank handle, which is harder to operate, not as smooth as I would like, and seems less sturdy. I expect it to hold up well for light/occasional use, but not for heavy use.

I have always trusted the Slik brand and the legacy continues. The 9000 tripod is well-built, and feels sturdy and stable. The only downside is how the elevator crank feels: a bit like rough plastic. Hopefully that will get better with use. All in all it is a great purchase.

Great product. Quite sturdy. I used it in the past for many years until the handle broke. Replace with same unit, this one.

I have used this for videoing my grandsons' football games and practices. I have a Canon Vixia 800 and it works great. Very smooth panning and appears to be very well built. I would recommend this product.

I like it but, only one issue tilting up and down was an issue for me.

I felt that the tripod was a good value when I bought it. But the head where the camera mounts has a lot of plastic where I would want some sort of metal. I don't expect this item to last too long. Also, the camera mount needs a dime to close the mounting screw. My old tripod had a semi-circular piece that would easily rotate the screw simplifying mounting my camera.

I buy these for my high school photography class. They are pretty good for the price, however the kids have to be careful because some of the plastic handles have broken.

I love this tripod!!! Although I have a lot of tripods, this quickly became my favorite. First time I used it I was walking around in the downtown area shoting some of the historic building we have. The light weight was definetly a plus. After several hours walking with camera extra lenses and tripod I felt no muscle strain at all. I gave this tripod a 5 star rating only because I couldn't give it a 4.5 or 4.75 star rating. The only purpose I would not want to use is in a permanent studio setting. I used to be a professional photographer using medium format (i.e. "645") cameras. The reason I bought this tripod is that except for my old Bogen heavy duty studio tripod I couldn't get extra quick release shoes. With this tripod I bought several extra QR shoes and put them on all my DSLR Cameras so I can quickly change from one camera to another faster than I can change lenses. This was the deciding factor in my selection. If you notice that I put light weight both has a Pro and a Con. No tripod is great for all situations and the only drawback with this tripod is in those situations when you need a heavy tripod for extensive studio work. In a pinch (such as in a temporary studio or visiting a studio) I would not hestate using this tripod, but would normally use my heavy tripod when in a studio. I highly recommend this tripod especially if you have more than one DSRL.

I purchased this particular product for several reasons. It was at my price point, it was made by a respected name, and it had many of the qualities I wanted in a tripod. I generally use it taking wildlife photos. I do get a bit of camera shake if I use it fully extended but a remote switch would probably solve that. It is easy to carry around and I strap it right to my camera bag and I barely notice its additional weight.

I bought this tripod to support a small barn door astro photo system. I owned a similar Slik tripod 25 years ago but it was lost in hurricane Katrina. This model is not as sturdy as my earlier Slik due to the all plastic head. The aluminum legs seem pretty solid and the rubber/spiked feet are an excellent feature for my application. However the quick release plate, while convenient, is another source of instability. While this is a good light tripod for most applications I will have to move to a heavier model for astro photography.

I use it mostly for landscape photography. It's one of the best out there for the price - well cosntructed, lighter than it looks and the head is changeable. I do wish the angles of the three legs can be separately adjusted.

This reasonable cost tripod will work well in almost all situations. A little too bulky, heavy for hiking & extended carry use. 3-way head has smooth movement and lock-downs, easy to make fine adjustments, although "(Fluid/3-way) Head" is a bit of an over statement. This tripod is sturdy enough that it can likely support somewhat over the stated 4 lbs, maybe up to 6.

I got this partly because of price but I was surprised how good quality it was as well. It is lightweight and very stable for my purposes and shrinks down small enough to carry easily. I would definitely recommend this as a first time tripod.

Bought this tripod for my wife to use, she needed something light weight but sturdy. The Slik 9000 fit the bill perfectly and also her budget.I use a much higher end tripod and I have to admit this little guy stands up right next to it and does her a fine job.
