I ordered 3 of them, only two of them worked. I choose not to send it back due to shipping charges. (You have them on sale at time of purchase) I purchased them for stocking stuffers for my employees. I would not recommend these to anyone. Even the two that worked didn?t work well.

Don't Buy!!
Got this for Christmas, thought that's cool, put batteries that came with it and light wouldn't work. Then started to get hot, seems to be shorted out. Usually Smith & Wesson has good quality, but not this. Pure Junk!

Lacks quality / did not work
Received this product as a gift new and sealed in packaging. Installed supplied batteries and saw a few flashes from the lamp then nothing. Placed in my pocket and noticed it began to heat up!?! I installed new batteries and heard a click when screwing back together. After the click the light glows but very dim. This is a poor product. I can assume from the other reviews this product has known issues.

I live about 45 minutes from Bass Pro where I bought this item. Spent $100 all together even though this pen light is the only item I went for. Was not pleased when I got home and the light didn't work and was really put off to see your price is $8.99 while I paid $20 at Bass Pro.
If something doesn't work when first purchased it usually indicates it's a piece of junk.

Poor product that failed in time of need
I?m a paramedic and try to stay equipped when I?m not at work. I was the first on scene and the first witness of a roll over accident a few days ago. I quickly parked, grabbed my window punch, and went over to the scene. Not only was I disappointed that the windows didn?t break, but I was also disappointed that the tip of the window punch flattened out and became useless. At a time that others needed me most, my S&W tool caused me to fail where I couldn?t reach them. These occupants were trapped and had to wait for other help and needed medical attention.
