Its funny how Sonly products last just over the warranty time before developing faults. This was another Sony product which left the factory full of bugs. Crashes and glitches from new. Only fit for the bin.

For the last 6 yrs this player has played my 3D movies and BuR flawlessly! The only BAD thing about this player is it keeps track of every movie you play. My son brought over a movie to watch with me on a DVD disc. Just as we put the movie in the player a prompt came up and said this is an illegal disk. I told my son never bring a copy of a movie again unless you own the movie. He said that he did on the movie. I like my privacy and this is a big deal to me. Sony is a Watch dog and keeps an eye on you by tracking what you do when using this DVD 3D player.

Love the convenience of the supplied remote control ! Open the disk drawer, and my Sony TV auto switches...no need to change anything. And my Sony remote speaker system has super bass.

The BDP-S5200 is so light you will hardly believe that it is as powerful as it is. It great for connecting to the Internet, watching Netflix, Amazon Prime or a Blu Ray all in one place without having to use other devices. It's ability to play 3D Blu Ray is amazing. If you have other Sony Products like the PS4 or Bravia TV's then it's menu will come as second nature to you. Overall well worth the investment

Really happy with my Sony - BDP-S5200 and how quick and easy it was to get used to. Features on this player are excellent and the smart features are a real bonus. Great picture quality and easy to navigate menus makes this such a great product for people who don't enjoy pages of menus to go through. Remote control is basic and simple to use and new users should be comfortable with this. Overall I am very happy with this product and enjoy the quality play back of my DVDS.

Why the heck can we not see the characters of the password for our own router as we laboriously "type" it in using just the arrow buttons? Only a brainwave - plugging in a USB PC keyboard - got us online. Some of the characters on the on-screen keyboard do not do what is expected. Being able to see what the characters are would save a great deal of frustration. There is no need to hide them.

Given to me as a birthday gift in 2015 this machine is great when it works but mine seems to have a faulty HDMI output. I've tried different HDMI leads changed ports on the television but to no avail it can take 2 or 20 attempts for the signal to get through to the television. Something I'd wanted for a long time has brought only anger and frustration and I'm a big Sony fan.......sorry Sony not on this occasion.

Only had this for 3 weeks and have watched quite a few blu ray video's on it and the quality is there. Looks the part as well, designed nicely and portable and very light to carry should you wish.

Bought as replacement, works fine.. Easy to use.. One issue, have not figured yet.. No zoom option found yet(?) No Auto size setting either.. But I can work around that one.. Otherwise, very easy.. Good and very small..

As a DVD/blu-ray player it is excellent value for money. However, we are experiencing great difficulty accessing Amazon Prime. Our Internet connection is fine but the device won't connect to either Prime or Netflix, with or without cable!

I have the BDP S5200 connected to a TV through HDMI and also o my Sony STRD2020 deck through digital coax audio. Certain DVDs work perfectly. No issue on TV as well as the stereo deck. BUT Certain others create audio problems (a sound like a bad motercycle) through the stereo deck, but still work ok on the TV/HDMI. No idea what is going on. The problem DVDs seem to have M4a coded audio at 192 KBPS, 48 KHz.

The only problem I am having with the player is that it locks up a lot., Neither the power button nor the remote will respond. I have to unplug the unit, wait a few seconds than plug it back in.. Other than that it's a nice unit. Anyone else have that problem and a fix for it?

The product seem to me to offer more then an ordinary Blue Ray and I had been told it was easy to install. When I got it my first surprise was the size about half size of the old DVD. It literally took minutes to connect to TV. Getting it to my wireline took a few attempts but once installed everything else was easy and straightforward. Love the wifi options.

I love my new Blu-ray player. It has the wireless streaming so that I don't have to have a separate box to watch my Netflix and Amazon Video. It took me a while to get use to it, but now I love it. I would recommend this to anyone.

Compact size, which fits in alongside my Wii console beautifully. Easy to use. Nothing complicated to worry about. It plays Blu Ray, DVD and CD's. A multi use item worth every penny.
