You can achieve total confidence in your visual production with the Sony BVM-HX310 31.1" 17:9 4K Ultra HD HDR TRIMASTER HX Professional Master Monitor. This state-of-the-art monitor ensures you are always seeing the true picture, offering unparalleled 4K HDR picture quality, accuracy, and consistency. It is the ideal choice for demanding on-set, studio, and post-production applications, including 4K digital cinematography. The BVM-HX310 is the go-to monitor for HDR and 4K/UHD post-production, trusted by professionals for its exceptional performance.
Experience true colors with the BVM-HX310, the 4K HDR monitor that professional colorists have been eagerly anticipating. It is an optimal choice for critical color grading and CG tasks, supporting industry-leading wide color gamuts such as DCI-P3, ITU-R BT.2020, S-Gamut3.cine, and S-Gamut3. With consistent and faithful color reproduction across the entire luminance range, this monitor is an ideal partner for cinematography production and post-production workflows, especially when paired with Sony's 4K cinematography cameras.
Fully ready for HDR, the BVM-HX310 leverages the advanced performance of the TRIMASTER HX panel to achieve 1,000 cd/sq. m of full-screen brightness and a 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio. This makes it perfect for producing High Dynamic Range (HDR) content with rich, deep blacks and accurate reproduction of bright peak highlights. The monitor supports a much wider color gamut than conventional monitors, allowing it to reproduce high-resolution HDR images with exceptional clarity, depth, and realism.
The BVM-HX310 offers great HDR flexibility, supporting conventional gamma settings of 2.2, 2.4, 2.6, and CRT gamma, as well as standardized Electro-Optical Transfer Functions (EOTF) for HDR, including SMPTE ST.2084 and ITU-R BT.2100 (HLG). These standards meet the demands of today's broadcast and cinematography industries. Additional EOTF tables for live and post-production environments include 2.4 (HDR), S-Log2 (HDR), S-Log3 (HDR), and S-Log3 (Live HDR), enabling workflows that closely resemble film while delivering a 4K wide dynamic range.
Make no mistake with the BVM-HX310's support for VPID (Video Payload ID), which identifies EOTF, color space, and RGB source information embedded in the SDI signal. This feature automatically adjusts monitor settings, reducing the risk of human error in high-pressure live production environments.
Integration into modern production workflows is seamless with the BVM-HX310, thanks to its single-cable 12G-SDI input and connections for 3G-SDI, HD-SDI, including Single Link/Dual Link, and HDMI (HDCP2.3/1.4). Enhance your workflow by easily checking the effect of different LUTs on set or in post-production. Load customized User LUT (Look Up Table) files from a USB stick for comparison during pre-grading or with different EOTFs, allowing you to see the effect of different LUTs at the touch of a button.
Quality assurance is efficient with the Quad View Display mode, which allows instant comparison of up to four sets of custom display settings, including EOTF, Color Space, Transfer Matrix, Color Temperature, Contrast, Brightness, and Chroma. This feature is invaluable for comparing original footage with the look of different EOTF converted images, enabling you to view up to four LUTs side-by-side.
Work in real-time with minimal processing delays, a critical factor in live production and broadcasting applications. The BVM-HX310 offers a processing delay of less than one video frame, making it ideally suited for real-time video monitoring. The True Interlace mode provides faithful reproduction of 1080i input signals, free from artifacts and picture degradation that can occur during I/P conversion.
Stay in control with the familiar front control panel of the BVM-HX310, similar to the BVM-X300 master monitor. Seven user-assignable function buttons are complemented by manual controls for aperture, chroma, brightness, and contrast. Usability is further enhanced with dimmable button lights and on/off switchable indicator lights. Newly added functions, such as SDI2 4K and SDI2 2K, can be assigned to function buttons.
Maintain your monitor with ease using the software-based color temperature (white balance) calibration function, known as Monitor Auto White Adjustment. Combined with a PC and commercially available calibration tools, this function enables simple adjustment of the monitor's white balance.
Customize your experience with instant access to settings last used in the status menu, including color space, EOTF, User Preset, and more. When the menu is reopened, everything is instantly available. Set two flexible shooting area markers anywhere on the screen, useful for applications like shopping channels where differentiation between product views and buying information is necessary.
Ensure security with password-protected access, allowing multiple users to register their own passwords to access color temperature and user preset data settings. This feature ensures each user can correctly recall their own preset data while keeping information safe from unauthorized use.
Be ready for action with key settings, including last memory and user preset, loaded instantly when the monitor is powered up. This time-saving feature is invaluable for rental applications. The BVM-HX310 can display various markers, including an aspect marker, safe area marker, and center marker. Detailed display settings for each marker are offered, allowing control over color, brightness, horizontal/vertical position, and width of aspect markers, as well as the height and width of safe area markers.
