The Sony C-800G Studio Tube Condenser Microphone PAC is a tube condenser microphone kit designed for vocal and instrument recording where professional level signal reproduction is crucial. At the core of the C-800G's excellent sonic character is a 6AU6 vacuum tube, which provides outstanding warmth and presence to the input signal to make the microphone a viable solution for instrument and vocal recording.
The large diaphragm condenser element yields a true frequency response of 20Hz to 18kHz with a dynamic range of 113dB. The result is an even, flat frequency response that maintains detail with low signals and transients. Cardioid and Omni-directional polar patterns are user switchable at the front of the microphone. This allows complete pick-up control for instrument and vocal capturing. The microphone sports a Peltier-based cooling system, keeping the vacuum tube at a safe operating temperature and adding to the unique look of the microphone.
