This device takes a long time to wake up and allow it to be used. Once it gets going, it works fine. For example, when you put a CD in it, it says 'READING READING...." for a long time - much longer than any other device that I have ever used.

I bought this 2 years ago.CD is still functioning properly and radio is fine. Sounds great. Bluetooth never worked. Tried pairing Android and Apple phones and Apple products and nothing. You will need a jack to connect to mobile devices to the stereo. USB only works as a charger. If you want a simple stereo system to play CDs and radio, this system is fine. But if you want a device with bluetooth capabilities, look elsewhere.

Stereo would just shut off randomly. Sometimes it would turn back on. other times it would not.

Ten out of ten for this system. The performance and quality exceeded my expectations for the price of the unit.

I bought this an am happy. However: 1. Nowhere in the description on Amazon did it say that you have to use a propritary USB device to play MP3/WMA files. I went to list list of devices on your site and it seems none of the 32 or 65 gigabyte devices are available any longer for purchase. 2. I attached my Audio technica USB turntable and I get no sound from it through the speakers. It has a preamp setting which is not suppoosed to be needed if connected via USB. Any help or guidance on either issue would be appreciated.

My cmt 550i has finally stopped working which really saddened me,so I’ve opted for a new cmt sbt100 to fulfil my musical needs, after listening to a few other system i.e denon, teac etc that failed to impress me i decided to research just what the cmt sbt100 was capable of,to be honest i wasn’t expecting great things as i thought my cmt 550i would be hard to follow, how wrong i was, this system is a step or three above my last Sony system and oozes quality, the fm radio is so clear and fast to tune all available dab stations,in fact on this system it’s also louder with no distortion at all,the usb function is faster than my last system and read my usb stick with all my music files on very quickly with such clarity giving all the necessary display options you’d ever need,Bluetooth works a treat and hasn’t failed once at all to connect to any of my devices, and it’s done so very fast with amazing audio playback quality, usb is a must for me and that alone would be the clincher for me,if it weren’t for the great performance of the CD player, fast loading, very clear audio playback all round, brilliant, the equaliser has all the correct levels for my hearing but the bass boost as an extra option should you need it is marvellous, ive tried a dedicated separates cd deck through the audio in that sounds amazing in that the volume level increases and sounds as good as when it’s connected to my pioneer separates system, the only small gripe I have is the length of the speaker cables are really far to short but I’ve got round this by extending and joining extra speaker cable to the existing speaker cable, this was quite easy to do and in no way will it do any damage to the speakers at all so that solved that problem,I’ve read a few reviews regarding the speaker plugs slotting into connection slots as being unattractive etc but I find them to be very well fitting giving a good reliable sturdy connection, ive got used to this method of speaker connections and prefer this now to loose soldered ends, banana clips etc, this is a quality piece of audio equipment that does a fantastic job of what it’s intended for and for its price out performs a lot of the other pricey compact systems out there,i didn’t think id better my old Sony system for the price I’ve paid for my new Sony audio system but i was wrong and i have done just that,so this Sony cmt sbt100 system gets a big thumbs up from me,highly reccomended and we’ll done and thankyou Sony.

The dimensions are listed in inches (in) on the SONY website. I think its supposed to be millimeters. It says 41.73 x 114.17 x 87.01 in (It's nowhere near that big)

My second review. I just paired the CBT SMT100 with Sony MDR-ZX110 Headphones and played Metallica's Kill 'em all. It was a fantastic listening experience with the first two tracks. I used the internal CD player and it was smooth audio. I did another review with external devices but started using the built in CD player and it sounds great. Awesome products by Sony.

I've had this item for three days now and have tried over and over to assemble it but nothing. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The instructions are vague and I'm stuck with this thing.

It has a great sound, easy to work with. The only drawback is the fact that I can't open the CD tray with the remote.

We have had a large component stereo for 32 years and went to this smaller one and are very impressed with the quality of sound that these little speakers produce. It was easy to set up and easy to operate with our bluetooth devices.

Apparatus combines with environment. They have enough power for a living room or bedroom. The sound is quality and has basic adjustments to improve. The Bluetooth functionality is interesting.

This unit comes with a generic CD player that has a range of 50 Hz to 20 kHz at -96 db noise floor. It sounds very good with Bluetooth covering the full 20 Hz to 20 kHz range. I hooked up an external JVC XL-R204 CD player with noise floor of -106 db and is a 1 bit 4X ADA converter and a TEAC 400 turntable and the sound is amazing thanks to the S Master R digital amp (1 bit DSD). With external higher quality devices you get awesome sound from 50 Hz to 20 kHz but hear the sponginess of amps and shrill of guitars 5% for JVC and get the full analogue sound of records. Only disadvantage is the single 1/8" input analog jack as I had to use RCA to 1/8" jack but the sound quality is superb with external devices including music from tablet and radio. I would have loved even more for it to have graphic eq for mid range control and more inputs for external devices that use RCA jacks and louder output up to 100 watts per speaker and a built in CD like JVC XL-R204's specs and wire connectors for external speakers and a built in switch to use 50 watt internal output or 200 watt external output. Other than that I recommend it.

Wanted a small system for home office. This fits the bill nicely. Pros: Clean look, variety of inputs, bluetooth paired fine with multiple devices including Amazon Alexa, Sony brand, speakers are good enough, bass is surprising for the small size. Cons: a little slow starting up, slow indexing a CD, under-powered (but fine for a bedroom/small office), speakers are 6 ohms - so if replacing with 8 ohms may decrease volume a little more. Overall, pleased with purchase.

Excellent stereo!!! The sound has a crispness and fullness that is impossible to put into words. It has everything but a cassette deck, but I hardly play cassettes anyway. It has bluetooth, nfc, headphone jack, audio in jack, and cd player. Also, it has both an am & fm radio -- unlike many stereos today are unfortunately not including am radio reception. Just an amazing purchase. I liked it so much, I bought 2. Get it, because it is getting harder and harder to find a compact, quality stereo like this -- eventually, you'll have to buy a separate receiver, speakers, etc. And who needs all the hassle doing that? This is a must buy item.

I WOULD GIVE IT A 5 STAR BUT THE FM STEREO DOESN'T REALLY PLAY THAT GREAT...THERE IS TOO MUCH STATIC AND THAT IS BECAUSE OF TH MICKEY MOUSE ANTENNA SYSTEM THEY HAVE...I MEAN COME ON THIS IS 2016 AND YOU HAVE A DANGLING WIRE IN THE BACK THAT IS NOT "SUPPOSED TO BE NEAR THE WIRING" AND THE UNIT? SO WHAT YOUR GOING TO TAPE IT UP ON YOUR WALL? YOU WOULD THINK THEY COULD DO BETTER AND THUSLY ELIMINATE THE STATIC...SOME CHANNELS DON'T HAVE THE STATIC BUT PLEASE THEY SHOULD BE ABLE TO DO BETTER WITHOUT ME GETTING SOME NEW ANTENNA DEVICE OR WHATEVER...AND DITTO FOR THE AM ANTENNA...A PIECE OF PLASTIC THAT LOOKS CHEAP AND YOUR SUPPOSED TO LIVE WITH THAT? THE AM IS BAD AND DOESN'T PICK UP CHANNELS IT SHOULD...I GOT IT PRIMARILY FOR THE CD PLAYER SO I CAN PLAY MY RAIN AND WATERFALL SOUNDS DURING THE NIGHT TO HELP WITH SLEEP. I HAVE THIS SAME SYSTEM IN MY OFFICE AND I HEAR STATIC THERE AS WELL...

I had been looking to upgrade and downsize my cd player and after having read amazing reviews of this product online, decided to buy it. I'm so glad I did. Usual Sony quality, as well as good looks. Obviously it is way more than just a cd player, but that is its primary use for me. One online review told me that the speakers are 24cm high, and the space between the two shelves on my entertainment unit is 24cm. Would they fit, or would they not? They fit as if they were made for the unit! Thanks Sony. a great product at a realistic price!

I can't place the speakers where I want them due to the wires being too short. The am/fm receiver needs an amplified antenna. Only a few stations come in sporadically (and not my fav's)

Have had the Sony CMT-SBT100 micro music system for a couple weeks now and am very pleased with its functions and performance. Handsomely designed with a simple set up it provides good, clear sound and easy operations through a handy remote or with its low profile push button interface on the receiver. I'm using it in my loft office and it pulls in my favorite FM radio stations better than my $ receiver downstairs. iPhone set up is a snap for iTunes and it can also connect via Bluetooth or di...

Great purchase
By ETMK
We wanted a no frills, clean-looking stereo for our one bedroom house and this was the perfect one. The two speakers really sound awesome, the price was great, we needed an audio in jack for our Sirius and record player and we wanted it to be a quality purchase. What little stereo options are out there today leave much to be desired as they all seem to be somewhat gaudy, but not this one. Highly recommend.
The Sony CMT-SBT100 Micro Music System with Bluetooth & NFC features a modern design, powerful sound output and a host of convenient features. It supports Bluetooth wireless streaming with tap-to-pair NFC technology and supports AAC and aptx codecs for superior audio quality. It's also equipped with a CD player and AM/FM radio so you can listen to a variety of sources. Connectivity options include a front USB input and rear aux input. Additional features include an LCD display with clock and Bass Boost with sound settings. For convenience, a wireless remote control is included.
