I loved everything about this unit, but the video died after just 1.5 years of occasional use (it quits after 2 minutes and yet the audio works fine). The short Sony warranty left me in the cold, so to speak. This failure is not typical of Sony products (I own many) and I am very disappointed. I wonder if the poor warranty speaks to Sony's lack of confidence in this product. Frankly, I may have to rethink my loyalty to Sony products because I do not wish to endure the cost of premature failures in products that are relatively expensive to begin with. In all fairness, my ratings would all be excellent in all categories for this DVD player had it been reliable.

I've got this product for my 2 year old and we just loved. We've traveled with it more than 20 times (airplane, car, train) and is still perfect. A little bit expensive but "it's a sony"...

I have ever bought. I take this everywhere with me and I find that the battery lasts as long as they claim. It's great to be able to take this player out and not have to worry about if there is a outlet and if I am careful I can get two movies out of one battery. I also like the looks. Great job Sony!!!!

I wanted a portable DVD player for my sewing room. I looked at many brands and finally read a consumer report and this model was the highest rated for dependability, picture quality and battery life. All others seemed to quit working after 3 months and only had a battery life of 1.5 - 2 hours. I purchased it on the recommendation of the consumer report and am totally satisfied with this product. It meets my needs perfectly. It has a very clear picture, is light weight, comes with AC and car adapter. I am looking forward to taking it on trips.

I am thrilled with the battery life. This DVD player saved me on a recent flight from Rome to the East Coast, USA. The only thing I don't like is that the outer shell is not as sturdy as it should be. My player slid into the back, hard plastic of the seat in front of me and the corner of the shell chipped. It did not affect the player in the least, and it would certainly not deter me from purchasing one of these. The red is beautiful!!

The Sony DVP-Fx820 Portable DVD Player allows watching movies anytime and anywhere. With a 6hr battery life, an 8" high-resolution swivel screen that provides a clear and crisp picture from any angle, 2 headphone jacks for sharing and a car adapter that ensures your movies outlast even the longest road trip. And when you want more than movies, the Fx820 plays your CDs or MP3s and lets you view your personal photo albums.
Control buttons are located on the screen bezel for ease of use. Skipping or fast forwarding a scene is so easy to do, either with the control buttons or with the dual-sensor remote control. This portable DVD player is so lightweight and compact that you can carry it anywhere you go. Though it is designed for adults, its durability is certainly built for kids.
