I recently bought this one since I had a previous model which was also a 1080p Upscaling DVD Player. It works very well and the picture was great even on a 720p - 1080i TV. It might make some weird sounds sometimes if the disc is heavily damaged, but I blame it on the disc. It's a good player for the price and has been working very well compared to other Upscaling DVD Players.

I didn't want to shell out large sums of money for a blue ray, since blue ray 3D will be coming out soon. I also have over 50 DVD movies and I don't want sell these movies and start over. Last night I was on Sony.com site and saw this DVD player and I was sold on it. The reviews were very encouraging and mostly positive. I bought this DVD player today 04/23/10 at Target, spent $40 on a Sony HDMI cable cord and was very impressed, my movies looked great, I watched the 5th Element with Bruce Willis, loved it, sounded awesome. I recently bought a Sony Bravia 40' LED. With both of these great prodcuts, srew the movie theaters industry, they cost too much. This is all I need. Sony Corporation rules above all in the industry of advance electronics technology.

We use our DVD player everyday to fall asleep. Before this unit, the old units would continue to run until we stopped it either in the morning or during the night. This unit has the option to turn itself off when the TV turns off which I'm sure will improve its life. I also like that it remembers where I was on the previous five DVD's. This remote is easier to use then my previous Sony DVD player. The price keeps going down and the features keep on getting better.

This Sony upscaling DVD player is absloutey awesome as compared to my regular dvd player on my plasma. The remote is a little cheesy, but functionality is great none the less. I would definitely recommend this multi-format player to friends/family who don't want to spend the money on a Blue Ray.

You cannot eject the disc with the remote. design is so sleek but not user friendly. nice looking player though. does not match the rest of my decor though.

this was a great investment and was not expensive. I was pleasantly surprised when I took out my dvd and put in another and went back to the dvd previously viewed and it really remembers where I was last...great deal!

Well Im all about Sony products so I thought i'd try this one out. Its about between as good as a Blu-Ray on a PS3 and a Dvd on a regular dvd player. Its still not as good as I want it to be upscaled but its a nice design, light, ok on price and does upscale. I still have to decide if im gonna keep it but, thats just because im really picky about my things.

This DVD player is a must buy for those w/LCD TV's. I had a $29 no name player before this and the picture didn't fill the whole 42" of the screen. With this new Sony DVD Player, the picture not only fills the whole screen but, it also improved picture quality. I'm not sure how, but it did. I highly recommend this product.

Same as last years model NS700H except they are asking the same price and not including the Optical Audio Digital Output(s) : 1 (Rear) Why they decided not to include it this time around is beyond me unless they have gotten HDMI to do 5.1 audio instead of only 2 channel.
