Sony DVP-SR510H 1080p Upscaling DVD Player, 60 Hz Power Frequency

I needed to replace a Sony CD Changer that finally gave out after having it for many years, many years. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on another CD Changer so I went with this player. Granted it doesn't have all the features my changer did but it does what I need it to do and that's okay my beloved CDs.

Because my TV is Roku Smart TV 32S327-CA, all picture-settings and volume-control can be done only from TV's remote control. DVD 's remote control can load disk, play it, advance, rewind, eject, but cannot siwitch on/off tv and cannot control volume. TV inputs and Menu are also not functional on DVD-remote. I use my own HDMI cable, not provided with DVD player (only RCA cables were included in the package)

Barely used it, and tray won't open. Tried their troubleshooting suggestions and nothing works.

I recently bought this as a replacement DVD player. So far I'm very happy with I. In addition to its great performance I like is small footprint in my living room.

I purchase this yesterday and it was delivered from Amazon the same day. It replaces the one month old Megatech unit I had. The SONY quality for build as well as function far exceeds that of the unit it replaces. I love the SONY remote, as it controls the DVD as well as my Samsung TV. Instructions, however, are minimal and are in very small print. I wish they were easier to read.

I purchased this because I'd formally had a Sony DVD player and it was awesome. After About 10 years, it was just on its last legs. It had been chipped/broken on the front of the disk holder (I'm blaming the dog). I got another D v d player from amazon and it was total c***. The great thing about this Sony d v d player is that it remembers where you are on a disk and not just one disc...multiple discs. Like someone else remarked the volume on the remote doesn't work but I don't need that. I can use the volume on my tv remote. I would definitely buy this again. This is just a little unit but it's perfect and well priced.

Small, compact, I have a very small area for a player this fits perfectly. Clear picture, works with all my dvds. This is my 2nd Sony of this type, had no problems with them

This DVD player was easy to set up. I have a Sony Bravia TV so it worked immediately with my TV. The video is crisp and clear. The sound is big bold and clear (it goes through a sound bar and woofer). As far as I am concerned there is nothing negative to be said about this DVD player.

Bought this to ease the use of my VCR/DVD recorder. It only plays DVD+RW and not DVD+R. THE DESCRIPTION STATED PLAYS DVD+RW DVD+R DVD-RW DVD-R IN ONE CASE IT ACTUALLY CAUSE ONE RECORDED MOVIE TO NOT WORK IN THE DVD RECORDER. i THOUGHT SONY WOULD HAVE A BETTER PRODUCT BUT i WAS WRONG. We have only used this a handful of times. It played fine after turning the unit off until we were outside the return window on Amazon. Now the DVD player will only load the DVD if we open the door as if we were removing the disc and putting a new one in. We can?t just turn the DVD player on with a disc already in it. It won?t play. We have to open the door every time. It?s frustrating and I?m sure opening the door every time we want to play a DVD will lead to a quicker break down of the components.

I purchased this unit for it's multi-disc resume function when playing music CD's. The function is turned ON in the custom settings. From the description it sounds like it should resume play from the stop point of up to 6 cd's. Even after being powered off then back on.

I got this DVD player so that I can watch my DVDs on my HDTV instead of on my laptop. It was easy to connect it via HDMI cable to the TV. It works perfectly for me since I only plan to us it to watch DVDs and nothing else. I also like its compact size since I live in a small apartment and space is at a premium.

The picture is good and it works well most of the time, but nothing changes when I press + or - volume on the remote. The unit sometimes does not recognize DVDs, and I have a hunch that this usually happens when it has been left on for an extended period of time.

This small simple unit is cheap, but that's because it only plays on one volume.I couldn't find a way to turn it up. The remote has a volume up and down, but it doesn't do anything.

I bought this device yesterday, and my husband installed it. When we went to use it, the dvd tray was stuck and would not open. We went through the entire manual to try to figure out what the problem might be, and found no help. When I googled, it turns out that this is a common problem connected to the child lock system. I found specific instructions for this problem, and attempted to follow them. However, it turns out that the instructions, though they are presented as specific to this model, bear no relationship to the choices available on the device menu/display. None of the remedies suggested on the website has the slightest effect on the problem. Perhaps the DVD player would be a good one of it worked, but the only remedy I see here (since the Sony support phone number I called suggested visiting the web site I had already visited to no avail and then cut me off) is to return this useless object to the place of purchase. What a waste of time.

It was a Christmas gift for my mother. It worked one time. Infra red went bad. Since she did not keep box or receipt had a check if a time exchanging it out. Have a new one hope it last longer then one movie.
