Shopper : Why is this camera advertised as a wireless mic when i'm seeing a cable which is stated to be 3m but no transmitter/reciever? I need a wireless lavalier for Panasonic AG100B camcorderDEBORAH P : The description is simply wrong. This is an excellent mic, but it is not wireless. You would need to add a transmitter to make it so. Wireless mics are expensive and you may be able to accomplish what you want to do with a small shotgun mic mounted on your camera.DAVID B : Quite a few Buyers on Adorama web site looking for wireless mics are shown this Sony mic. Don't know why. The EC-44 is a hard-line microphone, requiring an XLR cable. Sennheiser G3 wireless kit <a href="http://www.adorama.com/SEEW100EG3A.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/SEEW100EG3A.html</a> is more like what you're looking for. You can purchase other wireless kits for less and get less quality. Sennheiser is top of the line.CLYDE P : You are correct they are not wireless. I purchased 6 mics for studio use.Hoag L : You're correct this is not a wireless mic. It is clearly a catalog mistake. This ECM-44 IS a great mic but it always needs its own wire. The wireless system I bought at Adorama is the Sony UWP-V1. It's a bit pricey but it has worked great. I run a small video studio within a department of the University of Pennsylvania and use this Sony wireless system all the time in video shots at auditorium speaker presentations. The sound quality is excellent and the battery life (2 AAs) keeps the thing powered for about 4 hours at a time. This wireless can be used with an XLR input connection or with a XLR-to-single pin adapter that can be plugged into any camcorder.ANTHONY B : This mic is indeed not wireless. It is best for interviews where your camera will be locked down. If you need a wireless, I recommend the Sennheiser EW 100 series.Clint D : This is just the microphone. You need a separate transmitter and receiver. Most professional transmitters have xlr inputs you would plug this into. You plug this into the transmitter then the transmitter attaches to the belt or in the pocket of the person your filming. The title is misleading, but this allows you to buy the transmitter separately from the mic, which is good cause if you're ever close enough, you can plug this directly into your camera, etc. ANDREW R : Unfortunately this product listing has a typographical error. This model microphone is wired, not wireless. Apologies for the confusion.
Shopper : Is this a good mic to use with the Sony PD-170 or other HD Cam with a XLR connection? What is the radius of the audio it will pick up? Ron T Gainesville, FLHoag L : It will work well with a PD-170 and other video cameras, both HD and standard. It is a lavalier mic that pins to the shirt, so it's designed to be used at close range. It produces really high quality sound.JAMES D : It works fine with a PD-170. While it will pick up a couple of feet away, you'll have to crank it up some. Not really meant to pick up anyone besides the wearer.DAVID B : This is a small lavaliere microphone perfect for interior/exterior interviews. Placed on the lapel it will pick up voice very well. Beyond that the radius is shallow for optimal audio. Use it as it's intended and it'll serve your needs very well. I use this mic. a lot when I don't need a wireless mic. Connector is XLR so it'll work with cameras with XLR inputs. Mic. uses 1x AA battery. Hope this helps.MIA P : I cannot answer your question fully since I am not the end user. We ordered a second identical mic to one we already had and use them both when we meet with experts. The meetings usually take place in an office or conference room so I imagine that the radius the audio will pick up on is not all that great. Also, it depends on what you are recording, in our case we found the need for two mic's.CLYDE P : We use these mics for in studio newscast with no problems...DAVID H : It's an outstanding lavaliere microphone. Clips on clothing. Omni-direction so it will pick up nearby voices and ambient noise.
rodrigo m : Are you sure this is wireless??DAVID B : This is wireless if you plug a wireless transmitter into it. The microphone is intended to be wired, using a 3pin XLR cable, into camera mic input or other recording device.Clint D : No that big of an issue since the H4N is long. It would be more annoying if you had it sticking horizontally out of the side of a video camera or something.Clint D : Yes, it would just stick out far, unless you had a cable for it. There is no cable on the end, so it would stick out 5 inches out from the H4N. I bought a standard 6" XLR cable so the mic hangs down instead of sticking out.Clint D : This is not wireless, this is a Lav mic with an XLR jack on the end. You would still need a transmitter with an XLR input. There are no wireless capabilities built into this mic.DAVID H : I am using a Sony ECM-44. While it is an outstanding small microphone, it is not wireless. In order to wireless, it would require a wireless transmitter, such as the Sennheiser series.

The best for the money

The mic's are the best for the money. They function well, the sound is great and they are easy to use with many different types of equipment. Use the snap on them to clip the mic on and your mic is good to go. Adorama sells quality and these produce true sound that is sharp, crisp and true.
