Shopper : I bought this item won't fit in my Panasonic HDC-SD90 which had the standard shoe on it. Do you carry any converter or adapter to standard shoe?ROGER K : This microphone will only work with Sony camcorders featuring the AIS shoe; there is no converter shoe adapter available for other brand camcorders.CHARLIE C : TO ANSWER YOUR CUSTOMER'S QUESTION @ THIS MIC-THIS NEEDS AN ACTIVE INTERFACE SHOE TO POWER THE MIC & PROVIDE INPUT TO THE CAMCORDER. I USE THIS MIC ON A SONY HDR-XR520V HD CAMCORDER. I HAVE A COUPLE OF OLDER SONY CAM.S- D-8 & MINI DV- W/ACTIVE SHOE. I USE A GUN/ZOOM MIC W/THEM. IT WON'T FIT THE NEWER HD CAM.S SO I BOUGHT THE ECM-HST1 & A GUN/ZOOM MIC TO USE W/ MY 520V. I DON'T KNOW THE DETAILS OF THE PANASONIC HDC SD90, BUT IT DOESN'T SEEM TO HAVE AN ACTIVE SHOE MOUNT. MY ADVICE WOULD BE TO GET A WIRED MIC W/ A 1/8 MINI JACK THAT FITS THE PANASONIC, IF IT HAS THE MIC INPUT. I HOPE THIS HELPS. CCANDREW R : This microphone is specifically designed to use the Sony's Active Interface Shoe and may not function with other brand equipment. We do have a Sony shoe to standard shoe adapter ( <a href="http://www.adorama.com/FPSC6.html" target="_blank">http://www.adorama.com/FPSC6.html</a> ) but it probably is not compatible with your intended use.

Excellent, well worth the price

Used the microphone to record a chorus. Much better than it would have been with the built in micrphone.

Great audio enhancement

Overall sound quality was much improved over the built in mic. Narrow and wide audio field function work as advertised and allow some reduction in room noise and wind rush. Not quite as good as using a mounted or hand held mic but for a camera mounted stereo mic performed quite well.
