Fantastic wicked and versatile blade. The blade is very solid and strong and the handle is soft and comfortable.

Great knife. Even better than I expected. I would highly recommend this knife for a camping or hunting tool.

I baught this for camping and used it the same day I got it to chop a thin green tree branch and it developed a massive roll. Terrible steel or hardening process. Would not recommend sog to anyone after this

Before purchasing I had no illusions this was going to be a heavy use knife, but still it looked cool and I figured it would be sufficient for some light chopping, maybe batoning or other light camp tasks. I don't know if the knife I bought has a manufacturing flaw or if they are all like this, but the tip of the blade (last half inch) is paper thin. I can move it easily with my thumb. The cheapest kitchen knife I've ever seen has a stronger tip. Any positives I could mention about this knife are useless considering the weakness of the blade. Very, very cheaply made. I wasted $45. There are way better knives for the money. This one is junk.

Great knife if your cutting marshmallows or hot butter. Don't recommend using it to cut green tree limbs because the blade will bend or break.

i have had my jungle primitive about 4 to 5 years now and have used this knife very heavily. i have batoned through wood, chopped trees, thrown it and just generally abused this knife and it has stood up to the abuse. really the only annoying thing is the saw-back, its thicker towards the bottom of the teeth so when sawing it only saws about a quarter inch before it bottoms out. the handle has held up extremely well with only minor scuffing on the finger guard. the sheath has had its fair share of abuse as well, i had a raccoon drag my sheath of one night and chew on it. woke up and found it laying about 20 yards from my lean to, with only the top corner of the belt loop missing. overall this is my go to knife when i go camping. i would and do recommend this knife to everyone. this was my first sog knife, but now i only buy sog knives.

I just purchased this knife and I am having trouble putting it down or letting it out of my sight.....I love this blade!! And after a little research I found that in my state, TN, it's actually legal to carry this blade. AWESOME

Well thought out survival design. I typically don't care for serrations; but on this particular knife they only use up a very small portion of a very large cutting surface. There's still ample regular edge for fine cutting, and the small serrated section for tough, problematic materials; so that was well designed. And of course there's also the sawback feature along the spine, and the hammer pommel. A finger guard was a necessity, and the abbreviated hook at the pommel end helps generate torque when chopping while helping prevent the knife from flying out of the hand while doing so. Very versatile knife; if you found yourself out in the sticks for any considerable length of time, you could still accomplish a great deal with this tool at your disposal.

Owned the Jungle Primitive for over a year. Steel is very nice for sharpening, easily razor blade. The spine is "Taticool" but almost useless. Handle indexes very well and is perfect in hand, gloves or not. The small serrated portion is problematic as it precludes fine wood work and is super easily bent over and damaged. Once worked out to a re curved bowie and sharpened, its an improved tool. The scabbard is cheap but very effective. A breath mint company makes a repurpose able container that fits perfectly for your fire starting or small sharpening kit. Nice big knife for Trailess Backcountry Camping.

The first time I took it out to cut a few small limbs, the blade bent.

Shipping was fast, the packaging was solid, the knife is built strong and feels balanced. It was oiled and sharp ready for use right out of the sheathe it came in. I went ahead and customized the grip with black paracord with the holes that were provided for it (I'm assuming). It feels good and looks aggressive. It's a great medium of axe and knife. Thanks SOG.

I bought this a year ago and it has been on my side ever since. It is a great hunting knife that is still sharp today. I will most definitely by another SOG!!!

Love the axe and the knife very well crafted and a quality product for the money , couldn't be happier . A little advice though , I never received any emails concerning my order like status or estimated shipping or when it shipped . Just a thought . But very happy with product

2 indications of my impression of SOG Jungle Primitive. 1) This is the knife I have beside my bed, the first think I'd grab in an emergency. 2) It is one of 14 SOG's I own.

I actually bought this blade when my Uncle Henry broke. I spend weeks or months at a time in the wilderness and this is the blade I have come to rely on. I am not in a position to just run to the store. I need a blade I can use and abuse and this is the blade. I'll never buy anything else.

I bought this tool a while back to carry in my camper and while hinting for the around camp and clearing shooting lanes when bow hunting. Great maneuverability and handling. Much more compact than machete and more useful than a hatchet or separate saw. Just trying to decide which SOG to get next. Thanks SOG.

And another great SOG in my collection ! An awesome knife to carry in the field. Not only do I feed somewhat protected lol, but it is an amazing knife, the nail puller/wire bending addition to the blade as well as the serrated teeth make this a must have in your collection if you spend any time out doors at all. When you strap this puppy on you feel like you should feel thus the name Jungle Primitive. I have used mine to cut branches in the way in a tree stand to cutting tinder to start a fire with the serrated edge. And the blade stays sharp, a must if you use your knives. I started out with a Flash II and I am addicted to SOG knives now. I can't own enough of them something the wife just doesn't seem to understand. I admit at first I just wanted to collect them just because they look great. But after using all my SOG's and just having to touch up the blade after hard use and to run it down the steel a few times I am back in shape and mine still looks new. The sheath is great as well and rides well on a belt. Cant say enough about SOG's as I said I am addicted to SOG and won't own or carry another knife out there. The pricing on their knives are extremely reasonable for what you get and I believe I would put my knives in my collection against any other competitor out there. THIS ONE IS A MUST OWN. James

So I'm out in my yard all the time. This Spring I could barely keep up with the growth of my yard. Ordering this SOGFari Machete 13" solved all that. My yard began behaving. Took out two large banana trees side by side each other with one hack. It's handled every task I've given it. Good grip. I honestly like it. And it makes my neighbor jealous.

I've had this tool/blade for some time now and taken it on multiple trips such as hunting, camping, hiking and climbing. The jungle primitive has not failed me yet and handled the abuse. Will definitely get another when his ones time is over. I hope SOG continues this model for years to come.

When I bought this it came sharp right out of the box! It can be used like a small machete or a bowe knife, with the power of both combined! I've used it many many times and it has proven its worth!

I have had th8s knife for a few years now and use it every time I head to the outdoors. It has performed every task required of it with flying colors from opening bottles to chopping wood.

For the primitive in all of us. When the only thing that separates you from them is your equipment, it better be good. Using SOG's Hardcased black coating, the Jungle Primitive is durable and comfortable with a molded Kraton handle that features Digi-Grip, a way to guarantee gripping power where you need it. One can instantly turn the Primitive into a small machete, limb saw or hammer. Includes a Nylon sheath with utility pouch. Don't be caught alone!
