Shopper : Does this microphone override the internal microphone of the recorder or just help pick up additional sound? Thank you!LOWELL M : It should fit any recorder, but you might have to get an adapter plug because of size differences (try Radio Shack).LOWELL M : I am using the microphone with an old reel to reel recorder which has no internal microphone, so that has not been an issue. But my thinking on an internal microphone would be that it is switched, that is, when you plug a microphone into the mic. jack that it will disable the internal mic. The value in that is that internal mics. tend to pick up mechanical noise from the recorder itself, thus you can eliminate that noise with an external microphone. The Sony FV100 seems to be a very good microphone for that price. Please know that I am not an technical expert, but I am able to recognize differences in sound quality, and I look for ways to make things better. I am happy with my purchase.

A value for a nice mic!

The Sony FV100 is a compact and easy to carry design excellent for karaoke use. It includes a long 9'8" microphone cord, so you won't come up short. Wide frequency response of 100Hz - 10kHz means you won't miss any of the important subtleties.
