If I understand it, due to the lack of Bravia sinc, the camera cannot be controlled (record on/off) via DJI Focus Pro. It is incomprehensible to me that the smaller brother fx3 supports this feature and therefore has support for Dji Focus pro as well. Even the older brother sony A7s II. Both are cheaper devices and have this feature I don't understand why sony can't add it to this camera as well.

The FX6 fits perfectly with my workflow. It gives me the features of a cinema camera in a smaller form factor but without being too intimidating.

Incredible camera, beautiful image and super easy to use. Can't complain about much with this camera. The only thing I wish we had was a couple more options like we do with the little brother of the FX3, 120fps in a normal mode that's not S&Q to gain audio and then being able to plug in a 3.5mm mic on the body! Otherthan that, sensational camera!

I bought this a month ago had only a few hours of testing and learning how the system works And great results are achieved. I've always loved the outcome of this cam. I will be posting some clips online soon.

At a budget friendly level professional video camera, this has all the bells and whistles that I'm after for the productions I work on and in a form that makes filming with it fluid.

I love the camera, but `I'm unable to get raw output to ninja v, it works with my a7s3 but not this camera. I followed all of the instruction and the service team can't figure it out either

This is one of the best purchases we have made to help grow our video production company. The camera is great. Our only feedback is that the body feels like it has mainly been made of some type of plastic. a few bits seem cheaply made but the overall performance really is unbeatable at this price point. We are very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend it to anyone thinking about making a purchase!

Incredible camera, especially if you're a run and gun videographer like me. Literally the only other thing that I could even think to want from this camera would be a slightly larger sensor so you could reliably do anamorphic lenses in 4K, but that is serious nitpicking.

I fell in love with this camera the first time I saw it. And then it was only a question of when I will buy it. And I was. And I am more than happy that I own this camera. It is a wonderful tiny little camera with big compatibilities.

This camera is a dream to work with. Images are seamless between the FX6 and FX9 can take it places my FX9 can't go.

I recently filmed&directed an 8-part natural history series for Channel 5 and as the series required both actuality with ecologists and scientists as well as wildlife photography (macro and long lens) the FX6 proved to be the most versatile camera I have ever worked with. Its ability to capture cinematic documentary style sequences and be portable and light enough to trek into and out of the forest every day only served to make it even more attractive as a camera set up. The internal ND filters were brilliant in maintaining accurate exposure without the need for a matte box (a great help in difficult to film situations) and its ability to quickly switch from S&Q and Cache during wildlife filming to GVs and actuality-led sequences allowed for fast capture of scenes. It is especially impressive in low light environments. I used a variety of lenses throughout production across a wide range of brands (Canon, Tamron, Sony) and all worked exceptionally well with the FX6. The Sony wireless microphone system through the hot shoe mount helped to reduce the inconvenience of mounting two receivers and stripped down, the camera body was light enough to use on both a gimbal and slider effectively. A pretty remarkable little camera (that could). I was so impressed with its performance, latitude and picture quality, I purchased one after production wrapped!

It took a year to the day to get here, but it was well worth the wait. As our first "new" camera in 12 years, getting used to all the options for sLog and HDR is quite daunting, but the imagery this thing makes, from such a small package, is amazing. I was able to color balance my FS100 to the FX6 so I can now do 2-camera shoots and streaming. The touch focus is amazing. Bokah superb. Best part the automatic variable ND. Only downside is the size of the files! But I'm not complaining. Can't wait to do a Chromakey job.

Love my FX6. Good dynamic range, great features, and rugged. You can get the same image from an FX3 or A7SIII, but the quality of life stuff is just so worth it. I find myself using the XLR inputs and internal NDs so much.

I teach a digital cinematography class where we started shipping in November around 50 FX6 cameras a month to our students. The response from the students has been overwhelming. Incredible feature rich camera that is setting a new bar for quality and features from a mid-range digital cinematography camera.

Excellent image quality and ease of use. Terrible screen support, I ended up going the Zacuto route with excellent results and have stoped using my FS7 except for American jobs where I need to shoot NTSC which unfortunately the FX6 doesn?t really do. I would have paid double for the inclusion of a global shutter but overall I?m really happy and would hire a Venice for bigger jobs. A great little camera. I was going to buy the FX9 but realized the smaller package was useful since I was used to shooting with DSLRs and this would be a little bit more of a physical operating feel like the DSLR but with more stability and heft...

I bought the FX6 about 6 months ago and it is a great camera. I guess the frustration is the amount of extortionately expensive extra bits you need to run it in a shoulder rig with V lock batteries, lens etc but once I got that sorted and added a Sony FE4 28-135 it created a great gun and run rig.producing super pictures.

I have been using my FX6 for almost a year now and Its almost perfect. so easy to use, Incredible face detection AF and that built in ND makes this a brilliant camera. I just wish there was an Audio Jack on the body, Maybe Sony can make an adapter from the handle connector?

The perfect multi purpose package

Great package overall
By Picmaster
A step up from my FS7 with much better colour and increased image quality
Image Sensor With Blazing Fast Readout Speed.
The back-illuminated full-frame Exmor R CMOS sensor, with 10.2 effective megapixels1, boasts a blazingly fast data readout speed along with high sensitivity and wide dynamic range. An advanced color filter array boosts color reproduction accuracy, while focal plane phase-detection AF enables solid autofocus stability and excellent precision, all of which contribute to outstanding image quality.
High Performance Image-Processing Engine.
The BlONZ XR image-processing engine boasts class-leading speed, providing up to four times faster processing performance compared to the FS5 II, minimizing latency while providing impressive real-time processing capabilities. The engine performs real time processingof autofocus (AF), image recognition and image quality adjustments, while also handling data transfer, user interface and other camera operations.
High Sensitivity, Wide Dynamic Range.
Beautiful bokeh expression and high sensitivity performance are delivered by Sony’s 10.2-megapixel full-frame back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS sensor and a state-of-the-art BIONZ XR processing engine. Thanks to the large pixel size and back illuminated structure of the full frame sensor, the FX6 delivers an incredible15+ stop wide dynamic range2with high sensitivity and low noisethroughout the camera’s sensitivity range. Its base sensitivity is ISO 800 with an enhanced sensitivity setting of ISO 12,800 -expandable up to 409,6003-for shooting in low and very low light conditions.
Acclaimed Cinematic-Color With S-Cinetone.
The inclusion of Sony's acclaimed S-Cinetone look, inherited from the development of the VENICEand FX9 development, allows beautiful images to be achieved directly in-camera. S-Cinetoneis optimized for natural skin tones and mid-range colors, with gentle highlight roll-off, for impressive subject depiction.
4K High Frame Rate 120fps Recording.
Full-frame 4K (QFHD) recording at up to 120fps with autofocus is possible thanks to the high-speed readout capabilities of the image sensor and the powerful BIONZ XR processor. Even at high frame rates, ultra-detailed 4K (QFHD) images are captured using full-pixel readout without binning, for clear post-produced slow motion (up to 5x slower than real time). The high-precision AF even allows wide open aperture for beautiful full-frame bokeh to be achieved during slow motion shooting.
The FX6 is capable of 4Kinternal recording, encoding 10-bit depth and 4:2:2 color sampling with either Full-HD Long-GOP or 4K All Intra compression. This makes it possible to push your color grades further, stretching video out for ultimate HDR realism while still retaining natural gradation, for true editing freedom
Real-time Eye AF and Face Detection AF.
Powerful Real-time Eye AF and Face Detection AF are built in for reliable focusing on people, especially in unpredictable shooting environments such as news gathering, event and documentary shooting. The real-time processing capability of the BIONZ XR image processing engine automatically maintains accurate eye focus on faces even in profile, looking up or down, or partially obscured -allowing you to concentrate fully on shot composition.
Fast Hybrid AF For Dependable Focus During Movie Shooting.
FX6 incorporates Sony’s highly acclaimed Fast Hybrid AF (autofocus) in all modes and frame rates. Fast Hybrid AF combines 627 focal plane phase-detection AF points with contrast-detection AF. This results in highly precise, smooth tracking of fast-moving subjects even over a wide range with a shallow depth of field, approx. 89% of the imaging area. Adjustable AF Transition Speed and AF Subject Shift Sensitivity parameters allow more flexible focus control, as demanded by professional users. Both allow preset settings to be recalled during recording by using a customizable button.
Lens-Ring AF Subject Selection.
When the AF Assist function is ON, rotating the focus ring instantly switches from autofocus to manual focus so that a different subject can be quickly selected. The face selection algorithm has also been improved so that the focus ring can be used to quickly and intuitively select specific individuals from within a group when shooting with Real-time Eye AF or Face Detection. Autofocus operation resumes as soon as the user stops rotating the lens focus ring, and the last subject selected by the focus ring is automatically tracked.
Proxy Recording For More Efficient Editing Workflow.
When capturing higher bit-rate formats such as XAVC-I 4K, low bit-rate HD proxy files can be recorded simultaneously. These smaller proxy files can then be used for editing and previewing prior to final production delivery which reduces computer load and allows faster and more efficient workflows. Proxy files are captured in 8-bit XAVC-L (1920x1080) 9Mbps MP4 wrapper. Proxy files cannot be captured during 16-bit RAW output.
Reliable Durability & Weather Resistance.
In response to feedback from working professional, the dust and moisture resistance of FX6 have been dramatically improved when compared to FS5II, thanks to refinements throughout the body. Additional sealing is applied to the media compartment lid, terminal cover and all joints in the chassis. Routes to dust and moisture entry have been re-examined to ensure reliable operation in challenging environments.Even though the dust and moisture resistance and therefore reliability have been significantly improved, the body dimensions remain compact.
High-Definition 2.76 Million-Dot (approx.) Flexible LCD Touch Panel.
The 3.5” LCD panel (1280 x 720 pixels) is mounted on an extended pedestal and adjustable to a wide range of angles for easy video monitoring regardless of camera rigging and shooting angle. Mounting points are provided at three places on the handle and two on the body. With touch panel supportand a quick access control menu, it provides intuitive control for commonly accessed features. Camera operators can change key settings with a single touch -including Codec, Imager Scan Mode, Picture Size and Frequency, Base ISO and Sensitivity, Shooting Mode and Audio Levels.
Smart Grip & Smart Handle.
FX6's ergonomic Smart Grip is designed for powerful and comfortable camera control even during prolonged or dynamic shooting situations. Three customizable buttons, plus essential zoom and start/stop control and a custom dial suitable for Iris or Variable ND Filter control, are all positioned in easy grip reach. The freely-adjustable telescoping handle and grip angle are set with a single button, for effortless position changes without slowing production.
The Smart Handle, attachable to the top of FX6, allows stable camerawork and operation in low-angle shooting. It's also equipped with XLR terminals, a mic holder and a digital Ml (Multi Interface) Shoe, allowing use with a variety of existing pro accessories.
Made For Content Creators On The Go.
FX6 delivers on outstanding mobility and operability with its durable magnesium alloy chassis, measuring just 6.125”L x 4.625”H x 4.5”W(153 x 116 x 114mm) and weighing just 1.96 pounds (0.89kg). It has a compact and lightweight design making it easy for users to grab and shoot at any time.
