This blade does not rust, great for repeated rock scraping and oyster opening. Sheath is highly durable. Edge stays sharp, but you will need to sharpen if you abuse it like I have. Long knife with comfortable handdle and the tip is stronger than any other knife I have ever used. i HAVE HAD THIS KNIFE SINCE 1999
