This camcorder has tons of features but is easy to use. The construction is quite rugged with lots of metal in the housing. This camera is not light by any means for its size. It is fairly compact but is a good fist full. The quality of the video is excellent, as is the audio. The mic is very sensitive but does not pick up any noise from the camera, eg, from the zoom. The projector works well for what it is and can project stills as well as video. Some people have complained about the touch screen, but I have had no problems. It just sometimes requires pressing on an icon for an extra second. The camera has a sticker on it prompting the user to download software from the Sony site, which went well. What did not go well is trying to register on the Sony site for additional online features/services. It did not recognize my email login address from previous Sony purchases, so I tried to register again, only to have the site say that my email address was already in use. So it knew me, but it didn't know me. I called Sony, got sent to various other reps and phone numbers, one of which had a menu option (#1) in case I was having trouble registering online. However, the people at that number were useless and had no idea about registering on the site. I contacted the Sony executive offices. They called me back three business days later. My case was escalated to some technical service, whom I have not yet contacted. The camera hardware in this case is excellent. The web service and support leave a lot to be desired. From looking around the web, my experience is not unique in this regard.
