When paired with Sony portable system cameras and XDCAM camcorders, the HDVF-EL740 delivers clear, high-resolution images for precise framing and monitoring. Its new digital interface supports 1080p direct signal transfers from the latest HDC series cameras, while retaining a traditional analog interface for compatibility with other Sony cameras and camcorders.

For added convenience, the HDVF-EL740 viewfinder includes camera head menus in addition to its dedicated menus, providing greater operational flexibility. It also features an external HD SDI input and DC/Tally input terminals.

Despite its advanced features, the HDVF-EL740 maintains a thin, lightweight design thanks to its new panel device adoption. This makes it easy to carry and use in various settings, from studio shoots to outdoor field operations.

The HDVF-EL740 viewfinder comes with a hood to minimize glare and a protective panel on the OLED display surface. It also offers a lifting mechanism for convenient panning, tilting, and height adjustments, as well as two assignable switches on the bezel for bespoke camera setups.

With its standard 1/4-inch tapped threaded screw hole at the base, the HDVF-EL740 can be easily attached to a rig arm without the tilt base assembly. It also includes a 3G-SDI input connector for viewing an external picture source and a DC input connector for standalone operation.

The HDVF-EL740 viewfinder also boasts a Boosted Brightness Mode (BBM) for ease of use in bright ambient lighting, color temperature adjustment settings, flicker suppression function, and a waveform monitor function (WFM) for precise exposure control.
