This HDCAM recorder is designed to deliver superior performance, inheriting all the advanced editing functions from the renowned HDW-2000 series.
The HDW-1800 features a 3-2 pull down capability, made possible with the optional HKDW-104 board. It supports non-audio recording formats such as Dolby-E or AC3 and can output 720/50P or 720/59.94P when equipped with the HKDW-104 option board.
This HDCAM studio editing recorder utilizes the same 12.65-mm width tape as the conventional Betacam series, providing high-definition images and up to two hours of recording time. It supports high-quality 20bit/48kHz digital audio in HDCAM format, with four digital audio input/output channels for enhanced audio versatility.
The HDW-1800 is equipped with a color LCD panel on the control panel, displaying a wide range of information including audio level meter and time data. The LCD unit also displays video during playback or recording, enhancing user convenience.
The built-in down converter enables the output of 480/59.94i or 576/50i, and up to 3 packets of VANC metadata can be recorded and played back. With the optional HKDW-105 i.LINK (HDV) input board, you can record i.LINK (HDV) signals from HDV devices onto HDCAM tapes.
The control panel features an intuitive function menu, allowing you to easily carry out operations and make settings using the function buttons on the LCD display and the MULTI CONTROL knob. The current settings can be conveniently checked on the LCD display.
The HDW-1800 offers DMC editing for automatic editing with a varying playback speed, pre-read editing for real-time recording of pre-recorded video and audio material with external device effects, and cross-fade editing for audio track fading.
This unit also features a remote control function, allowing for external control through an interface complying with RS-422A (Sony 9pin). A parallel (50pin) interface is also fitted as standard, supporting easy external control through the parallel interface.
In summary, the Sony HDW-1800 HDCAM Studio Editing Recorder is a versatile and high-performing device, designed to meet your professional recording and editing needs.
