I've been using the Sony Bar 8 for a few weeks now, and overall I'm really pleased with it. The sound quality is fantastic clear dialogue, deep bass, and immersive surround sound that really brings my movies and music to life. Superb

For the price, this product and it's dependancy on the Bravia App is bizzare. The app has issues connecting with Mesh as well as 5Ghz on Wifi 6 & 7. Havong deoendancy on App and having a non functional App in this age is absolutely unacceptable. At least error messages should provide details & some level of consistency in the issues is required. Terrible experience recoveted to some extent by the wonderful support from the retailer.

I bought this a month ago and the soundarbar 8 came with a woofer. I could not experience the Dolby atmos effect clearly.

The HDMI cable provided is too short. Hopefully Sony can provide a longer. HDMI cable in future. Subwoofer bass can be better.

I bought this to go with the Bravia 7 Mini LED which is terrific. I knew this soundbar had center channel synch with the TV so that would be helpful to create clear dialog. Unfortunately the dialog is much more difficult to hear with the sound bar attached. Even with voice turned up to maximum and tuned for the room dialog was not great. I thought maybe it was just me, but I bought another soundbar and dialog is clear as a bell. I moved the Sony Theatre Bar 8 to a bedroom TV with no soundbar. My wife and I both agree the built in TV speaker is has much clearer dialog.

After so much from Sony this year that turned out to be as good as they promised, the decision to do my latest soundbar as Sony was an easy choice to make. it was an easy choice to make. I chose the Bar 8 as opposed to the Bar 9 because of my small room size. Once again it turns out to be pure perfection. Great sound, it absolutely does everything that their product description says it will do. Plus, as Sony has proven before the level of service from their staff was equally impressive. I have it with the optional subwoofer and now intending to add the RS5 rear speakers.

The Sony Bravia Theatre 8 Bar arrived it was in a big box and it was heavy when l open it, it had the remote control cables and a wall mounting brackets and also was a pair of small feet for the soundbar to sit on it you don't want to wall mount it and all, To install and set up this soundbar l needed to download the Bravia Connect App available via the App Store or the Play Store, and it very easy to install and set-up within just a few clicks due to it being Bluetooth and WiFi and with an impressive 495 Watts of RMS power output, Now to the sound of this impressive soundbar, its very clear and very sharp from the 11 speakers this soundbar has the sound goes out in all directions front, top, and sides the bass that comes from this soundbar is very impressive which comes from its Quad Woofer.

The parcel was really well packed and when opened I was surprised at the quality of the sound bar which was heavy. This obviously was a fine and quality bit of equipment. Enclosed in the parcel was a set of strong brackets with screws for attaching the board to a wall. This I did not use because my TV is located in a corner alcove in the living room. An alternative choice was available to attach to the base of the TV set if required. Setting up and connecting the sound bar was exceptionally easy using the QR code in the instruction leaflet. This was achieved by using your mobile phone, and it then takes you through the setup procedure step by step. I must add that I was impressed with this set up method. Included in this program is clear instructions on how to add extra equipment like rear speakers and subwoofers if required. Although I have these extras, due to room decorators expected imminently I have disconnected them temporarily. In my case I have just laid the soundbar on one of the glass shelves and It works adequately. Now the sound bar is set up correctly I was impressed at the quality sound compared to my previous board. I suppose that is real progress showing how well they have improved. Now it was time to use the remote control supplied to further enhance the sounds on a personal basis. Trying the voice section really made the sound much clearer, then using sound field along with bass and volume gave me the sound I found best for my environment. I found that whether watching sport, drama, or music can be enhanced to ones personal requirement. I would certainly recommend this sound board to anyone, neighbours whom I invited in were suitably impressed. This is a marvellous bit of kit to further advance ones enjoyment when watching television. My collection of Sony products is growing, and am a lady in retirement age from Newcastle with very little technical knowledge. Never the less Sony accurate installation instructions have kept me on the right track for many years.

My BRAVIA theatre bar 8 is the best thing since a wide screen tv was made , at home I can now easily understand all dialog which was a struggle due to my advanced years, much clearer to understand sound

When the box arrived I couldn't wait to open it and set it up. I thought it wouldn't be easy but having discovered with other Sony Products I was pleasantly surprised. I first had to re-arrange my HDMI inputs on my Sony TV as the soundbar needed to use a EARC HDMI socket and I had my Cable TV box connected to it. Unpacking was fairly straight forward and contained everything needed to connect the Sound Bar to the TV. I particularly liked the dimple on the box for visually impaired people so they could get where the QR code was for downloading the APP. Putting it all together and TV detecting and downloading the extra piece of software it needed took no time at all. The sound bar works with everything connected to the TV, turns on and off with the box even though a seperate remote control is provided. There is also a separate HDMI in on the bar should you require an extra one since your taking one up on the TV. Loading the APP takes you through a sequence of events including setting up your listening space based on acoustics in your room. A warning would have been nice when the loud popping sounded across each speaker but the whole process was over quickly. The sound stage is brilliant and has really enhanced not only listening to standard cable TV but also DVDs and streaming services through the TV. A nice overall self contained sound bar with big sound. Only criticism is that it comes with two wooden feet which re aimed at raising it across the TV stand legs but were too short in this case so bar rested on TV stand. Im surprised at this oversight as they were part of the Sony TV installation. The sound bar does come with wall brackets should you choose to wall mount. A great edition to have to improve even more on the Sony TV sound.

Product arrived very well packaged. Have set it up in living room,connected to Sony TV. & looks very smart. It was easy to connect via mobile phone & sony app, bearing in mind that Im over 70 & female! Sound is very good & looks very smart. I have placed it in front of my tv as wall mounting wasn't an option as we have sliding doors. It does work perfectly where it is though. Im very pleased & would certainly recommend.

I had originally bought the soundbar yesterday. When I had gotten home I was excited to get it out and set it up everything was going smooth in the app until it would not fully register the product and would keep re trying it over and over. After awhile of doing that i had called the support and after almost 2 hours we couldn't figure out what was going on with it so they filled out a report. I decided to go exchange the soundbar at bestbuy for the same thing and try another one. Come to find out it is doing the same exact thing with this one except this one will display sound but it won't register the product in the app. I have been trying for hours to get this to work but nothing will work.

Huge upgrade from my previous HT-X8500 and perfect companion with A80. Finally can utilize the acoustic center sync function. The configuration and setup via the app is easy and quite useful. Can't wait for the subwoofer to full enjoy the sound at its fullest.

This soundbar is very minimalist. The spatial setup is done using the phone app. The sound is amazingly crisp and clear, can hear the soft birds chirping clearly around you. The base is also deep enough already, but not overwhelming. AirPlay is clear and balanced. The phone app is quite basic with only few things you can tweak, but not overcomplicated. Just wow, and love this soundbar. Can't wait to add on the optional subwoofer.
