Very capable soundbar from Sony, dialogues were clear and the overall experience was pleasant for a soundbar. Couldn't fault the sleek black design which blends seemlessly into any living room. What truly sets it apart are the satelite speakers and subwoofer; effortlessly transform into a superb surround home theater system.

This product was purchased in Dec 2024. It worked fine for several months. Now it will not turn on or reset. Zero support from Sony. The Sony support pages simply circle around over and over with zero option for warranty repair. My days as a Sony customer are over.

Sony sound mapping does create as immersive experience. soundbar itself is able to produce the virtual surround effects. good for movies. may not be the best of clarity when listening to music. so far no issues with audio i/o connections displayed as dolby digital dolby atmos 5.1 48kHz.. not sure how to achieve 96kHz or higher bits audio input/output. maybe Sony can advise and contact me.. otherwise a really good piece of sound system.

I have to confess that I was sceptical at first as I thought the sound output from our TV was pretty good but wow does the Bravia theatre bar raise the bar (pun intended!!). I'm always a bit anxious about setting up any new tech especially as the instructions provided were 'brief' to say the least ?.basically scan a QR code, download the app and complete each simple step. Within 30minutes the bar was unboxed, connected and ready to go. The next challenge was to decide what to watch. The TV guide offered plenty of quiz shows and sit coms but an endless stream of celebrities wittering on hardly seemed much of a test for this impression looking bit of kit so we settled on a Lord of the Rings DVD. Firstly we watched 45 minutes without the Bravia connected then the same 45 minutes (fair testing and all that) with the theatre bar. Wow what a difference! A rich full bodied sound filled the room while the dialogue was crisp and clear. Using the app we could modify the sound quality to suit our particular preferences. It would be an exaggeration to say it felt like being in the cinema, I didn't have an annoying tall person fidgeting and talking in from of me, but boy in terms of the surround sound quality it was close. Next to give it a thorough work out I connected it, via Bluetooth, to my music collection. Now I'm not an expert on TV and film but I am picky about my music and again WOW! Whether a bit of overblown progressive rock ,sonorous if a little gloomy Leonard Cohen or a touch of high brow classical the room was filled with sound. It even received top marks from my 18 year granddaughter who commandeered the set up with a few friends for musical evening of their own. All in all a really great product. Elegant and well built, easy to set up and control and most importantly it really enhanced the sound quality for TV programmes, film and music.

I was very excited about this sound bar, however, I was very disappointed with the quality of the sound. I have a Bravia TV so setting up the bar to the subwoofer was very easy to do. Singing this is what is the top-of-the-line Sony sound bar? I thought I was going to be blown away by the sound, but I ended up being disappointed voices were muddled, and the projection of the sound was moderate at best I compared the Sound bar to two other top-of-the-line sound bars, and I decided to return the Sony Bravia 9 sound bar.

On arrival the box itself is huge but re assuringly heavy. Inside the box is the bar, remote, cables, wall securing joints and fixings, and spacers for siting the bar between the tv feet. There are no installation instructions per se, But a qr code for an app. As an older user this invoked a little panic! However, The ease of installation is impressive, quick and very easy. Simple plug and play, with all cables provided, And the sound is awesome. Loud when it's needed, and responsive too Sound coming from every corner without extra speakers! Stunning And yes I personally would recommend this product to any, and everyone. Truly worth every single penny. Easy to use, Easy to install, Stunning sound at low and high volume, Excellent quality, Excellent build, Could only be Sony.

Bought this bar9 with sw5 as preorder without any demo, after receiving it after few weeks, managed to set it up and was testing it out, unfortunately found the sound to be very very soft and not impactful, has to always turn the volume up and down between scenes. Tried all settings but couldn't improve it. Found on Reddit, someone recommended to turn on the auto volume, then the bar come alive but still lack of that full immersive experience as it claims to be. As you can read or review from various official and unofficial sites, the bar should be able to provide that immersive experience, but in my opinion, you will still need surround rs5 to really give that good surround. I've went to Sony show room, after much comparison, even the sales agent agreed with me that the a7000 sound better and more immersive on a bar to bar comparison without any other speakers paired. Music playback on the bar9 is really bad. I really hope there could be some software update to fix this. Unfortunately I can't return this anymore as it passed the 30 days lemon law. So Sony, please fix this with software update or offer your bar9 customers with cheaper rs5 optional purchase, but still it doesn't solve the music playback experience. For those who is considering with the same price point, look out some YouTube or Reddit review, you may find some interesting comparison. Just my two cents, hope some good software update to fix all these short falls. Oh one more thing, bar9 design is really neat and light. This is something i will have to give credit! Will definitely recommend this to a friend if the two issues are addressed. P/s: I do have high expectation for Sony products.

I have paired my new Sony Bravia Theatre Bar 9 with my 55 inch Sony OLED TV and I must say that the aesthetics are very satisfying as the Bar is almost the same width as the TV, I have flipped round the stand on the TV that increases the height so the soundbar fits perfectly underneath. The sound that comes from the unit is simply incredible and was very easy to set up and pair with my TV. All of the cables that you need are supplied and there is also fixings to mount this on the wall if required. My previous soundbar that I had does not come close to the sound that this one produces and will easily fill the whole room so that you can really enjoy cinema quality sound. The app that I have downloaded on my phone is very intuitive to help set up the sound bar and also allows you to configure the settings. Other useful features that I have used are for streaming my Spotify account to the unit and I had not trouble setting this up on the app. I would highly recommend this sound bar if you want to experience cinema quality sound!

My previous bar was a Bose, but this sound bar coupled with the Sony tv gives fantastic sound and voice quality. Also the process for receiving £200 back was faultless and smooth.

Everything is good and up to expectation. However, the soundbar has connectivity issue during a restart or turning power off. Every time i switch off the power and then switching it back on, It isn't able to connect to my mobile apps. I will need to manually press the power button located at the side of bar to restart it before it is able to connect to the apps and any bluetooth devices.

For over $2k, this is not worth it at all. Please go buy something else instead. The spatial sound feature is underwhelming, and music sounds terrible. Also, it's mandatory to use the BRAVIA app, and sign up for a Sony account, before you're able to set up the soundbar; which is pretty ridiculous.
