Sony HT-S100F 120W 2-Channel Soundbar

Bought this a little over 2 months ago. I don't watch tv that often though but lately it is not making any sound. I can mute the TV but none of the buttons on the bar's remote will do anything or increase the volume. Very poor instructions to operate. I'm connected via the optical digital cable provided.

I bought the soundbar for my sisters. One is 74 and the other is 72. They were always turning the volume up on the television; not anymore! Yay! Love the product.

I've had this soundbar for about 2 years now, and while I really love the sound improvement, it does not like to connect to my tv. I have it plugged in directly via HDMI, but when I turn it on, the sound won't play like 50% of the time. I have to power cycle the tv + soundbar or toggle between tv sound and sound bar, which is a bit annoying. When it works it works great, it just doesn't always work

I bought at an offer price when I bought the Sony TV. It has a good sound quality and volume for music, dialogue and for gaming. It has a remote, HDMI ARC and Toslink-optical in. Excellent as a TV sound bar.

The single best word to describe my Sony HT-S100F Soundbar is "DISAPPOINTING" - VERY disappointing. I purchased the Sony after purchasing and having HDMI/ARC communication problems with a JBL soundbar. I was told by the electronics store sales rep that Sony TV's [mine is a 55X75K] have a reputation for communication problems with any soundbar brand other than a Sony. So I returned the JBL to the store and bought the Sony at Amazon [out-of-stock at the store]. The Sony has similar communication problems!! About 50% of power-ons work properly, maybe 25% require me to turn the TV ON separately as TV comes ON then goes OFF. Another 25%, as above the TV goes OFF, but when I turn it ON, it doesn't know which source had been on previously. A real nuisance! I suspect that my using a DISH receiver/remote as the master control is part of the problem. But I should have kept the JBL. This behavior is not acceptable, but at this point, I'm stuck with it. The sound produced by the two are different. The Sony does a credible job with enhancing dialogue, but has NO BASS compared to the JBL. The Sony does have different sound fields that are useful; the JBL only has 2 and I can't hear a difference, and they are a nuisance to use as it resets to default at power off. The bass on the JBL is a bit boomy, but I heard things I never heard with the Sony TV's speakers and are completely missing in the Sony soundbar. I do NOT recommend this Sony soundbar.

Adding this one piece sound bar is surely an upgrade to my Bravia TV because the weak point of it is the sound . Nevertheless , the bass improvement of this sound bar to almost zero . Now the sound is much fuller than the TV , not because it's good but it's worse from the TV . One more thing : if you found the sound bar cannot lip-sync with the TV , try set the sound output to PCM . That will do the trick .

Bought this about a month ago. I have put it with a TV in a large great room. Noticeable sound difference. Theater like music & voices are much easier to understand. Very happy with product.

AIR ANTENNA I cannot get the FULL USE of the Sound Bar because you need WI-FI SUPPORT!!! The first sound bar I received brand new did not work Tech support said that my HDMI cable needs to be change but the unit was bad I cannot rate the sound bar because I did not have WI-FI.

It was a free gift with the purchase of the Sony 65X80K. I didn't expect the fine finish, and richness of sound from this entry level Soundbar. It's lacking in fancy functionalities though. Great product from Sony

The sound quality is slight better than from the TV, but the sound bar frequently loses lip sync and I have to find the sound bar remote to get the audio back in sync with the video.

Great sound; many options to adjust tone; easy to set up; and a good value for the money. Don't hesitate to buy this sound bar. I would recommend using it on a Sony TV, and I highly recommend using an optical Toslink cable. Then you can use the TV remote to adjust the volume on the sound bar.

Great buy, great sound from bedroom TV for price. Could also easily work for bigger rooms. But without sub woofer prob not cinema sound, but for the price, can't beat it. I would recommend and buy again. Quick to connect by Bluetooth and easy set up. Looks sharp sat on cabinet

I purchased this through the air miles site. It has good sound plus you can pick for different scenarios like Cinema or talking. The Bass is good but it could be better but it's a mid range sound bar so it's kind of what I expected. Overall I am happy with it.

I purchased a soundbar from another vendor that was delivered broken and the setup instructions were complicated. I returned it and bought the Sony soundbar. It was easy to set up, the instructions were clearly written and it works very well.
