wasnt shure to buy this soundbase at first ,but now glad that i did ,tremendous sound quality,along with surround sound after paring it with bluetooth speakers ,and very good to listen to music from laptop to the ht-xt2 soundbase

Let’s start by saying that I love Sony products, I have always bought Sony TV’s and will not have anything else. This product has really let me down though! I bought it about a year and a half ago and initially it was great, lovely sound and fits perfectly in my TV cabinet. However it no longer works. It turns on and doesn’t know what to do. Sometimes I get sound but most of the time no sound, the on screen menu also gets confused. I am so disappointed with Sony on this speaker, it looks great but the longevity of it is poor. It’s also now outside my warranty so I have lost out. I wouldn’t mind if I had used it constantly for the last year and a half but I reckon I have only used it for about 30 hours maximum. Come on Sony help me out here!

Has good quality sound, but the input into the soundbar is extremely limited. It only has two inputs for exterior items, an HDMI and a fiber optic input. The USB can only be used for thumb drives (USB storage devices) that contain music. The design assumes that the TV you use has an HDMI output. This limits the usefulness of this soundbar.

I would normally give an average score as the sound is not impressive but OK. However, Sony sent a SW upgrade and the product failed. Dear Sony, why do you offer upgrades if you do not support the product under warranty? Disappointing. After some internet search, found as a common issue with these products...

I bought this unit just over 1 year ago and all of a sudden it stopped playing sound. I spent hours doing resets per Sony instructions, once and a while they worked but would create an out of sync sound with the video, then would all of a sudden brick out again. Now after multiple hard resets, cant even get a home screen. I see many reviews with the same issues. Thought I could trust the Sony name, not so any more since a speaker should last more than a year and a half. Wont be buying Sony products this Christmas. Too bad cause the sound was really good from the speakers.

This is a great product and makes a great TV sound brilliant. Very impressed with all the features and especially the way it looks so discreet under our Sony TV. The ony problem so far is that the remote has stopped working, even with new batteries.

I purchased this unit about 11 months ago and was amazed at what it can do. Unfortunately, my sound base was a lemon. Sent it in for warranty repair and I got what I was expecting -- a speaker with great sound and features.

I bought this less than a year ago and it has been constantly disconnecting from bluetooth. It has progressively started to disconnect from my bluetooth. Initially, I was not having issues with this product, but recently it has been disconnecting within a couple of minutes of using. It now does not connect at all.

My Sony TV sound is a lot better than this sound system. Extremely low sound to the extent of frustration. I normally keep my Sony TV volume to about 15 to 25 but with this system I have to crank it up to 65 to 70 for normal listening. Voice, music and bass are not up to the mark. Not a good choice.

We were having problems with the sound range on our tv and decided to investigate a sound bar solution. We decided on the Sony sound base speaker as it fitted perfetly under our tv and the sound we have now is great.

So pleased with the features and build quality of the HTXT2 after having its predecessor the HTXT1 for the last three years. Amazing connectivity for other devices including WiFi which makes it a fantastic replacement for a home audio system. Love the remote which echoes the design of our new Sony TV's (much easier than the wand of the HTXT1) and love the on-screen display. Amazing again Sony!

Very good sound, dismal usability through the Music Center app (before called SongPal). You cannot search for a song and you need to browse them all (I have 5000!). You cannot add them to the queue. They are all repeated when they are not repeated in the server. And so many more... Just look at the evaluations on the Apple Store and get your own conclusion before buying this loudspeaker.

Initial I borought it to use on my computer but at the moment it is on the TV, I might yet move to the computer but the sound is a great inprovment on the tv speakers.

Managed to set up the audio links satisfactorily. The bass note/woofer control effect is very good indeed. The ability to plug in a USB containing your favourite music tracks is a bonus. However .... I could not achieve Screen Mirroring/MIRACAST between my Sony TV & laptop which is disappointing.
