This is a great camera for the size and price. It's a little bigger than my Canon XA10 and not as high as image quality but that is expected for an older camera. The manual controls allows you to really get a feel for more advanced video camera features. I was very impressed with the shotgun microphone that came with the camera, it had great sound and great directionality. I would highly recommend this camera to someone that is just starting out and wants to learn how to use something more than just a point and shoot consumer camera.
