The Sony ICD-UX523 Digital Flash Voice Recorder is a stereo voice and music recorder as well as a high quality player and storage device. The ICD-UX523 has a built-in stereo microphone and an input for an external mic as well. You can listen to your recordings via the Built-In Speaker and of course, there's a headphone jack as well. The ICD-UX523 has six recording modes ranging from uncompressed stereo to compressed mono that handily store data in one of 5 organizational folders, which can be personalized with your own names. The Easy Search function rewinds or fast forwards in short increments to make location of a segment simple and you can place up to 98 track marks on a recorded file to facilitate jumping to an exact passage.

Sound quality is prioritized using several technologies aimed at yielding a clean signal. Intelligent Noise Cut reduces ambient noise and a Hi/Lo mic switch sets the recorder for lectures or dictation. The Low Cut Filter reduces distracting wind noise during recording while Noise Cut reduces external noise during playback. The ICD-UX523 is Mac and PC compatible and runs on a single AAA battery.
