Sony ICF-C1 Radio Alarm Clock, AM/FM Tuner, 100mW Output, 2.6" Speaker, LED Display

Just bought this to replace a previous Sony clock radio. Setup was easy as pie since the radio came with a button battery already installed, so the date, time, and time zone were already correct and the clock was actually running. The sound is really good for such a tiny, inexpensive radio. Only sketchy aspect is the tuning dial, which is analog, not digital. The stations are very close together on a tiny dial that is displayed through a tiny window and needs precise positioning to center on a radio station, being the reason for 4 starts instead of five. Since the tuning is analog there is no way to set presets. If the radio had digital tuning and preset ability it would be awesome, beyond five stars for the price.

The dual alarm version of this alarm clock has lasted me ten years, I am so used to its alarm that while searching for a replacement i was dissatisfied. I am buying another; love the ascending alarm volume and simplicity. Maybe one day they will bring back the dual alarm version.

This clock is worth every penny since this has all of the options you need from left to right, top to bottom. I will also note that this clock has a dimm option for if which you can turn up or down the brightness on the soft orange glow of the LED display. This clock also is AC current so no boxy power adapters that are needed for DC. This clock also has a AM/FM band on the radio and has a soft alarm that will get louder and louder as time gets. The clock also has a daylight savinng buttom that has a 1hr reset for each time a daylights saving day comes that should be banned since tractors at once have headlights. This also has a option for the time zone you were in - which is already ready from the factory. This clock is awesome and everyone needs one including you!!! ??????

The tuner is tricky to operate as it is an analogue control and I was used to presets. It is not very sensitive and I has to buy an extension for the antenna. I could not read the control functions on the casing as they were black on black, so I exchanged it for a white one.

This was a gift, replacing an identical product of mine that failed when dropped, so I was very familiar with the product's instructions how to install times, focus, lighting, time zones, etc.BUT, found the instructions still very difficult to follow (took over an hour to set up!!)

It doesn't take up a lot of space as it's tall rather than wide, which is an asset on a small bedside table. The sleep function at 90 minutes (and smaller increments) corresponds nicely with sleep cycles. It has three light levels so can be dimmed.

I bought this alarm clock to get me up for work and it sure did, it has a normal alarm and a radio alarm and wasn't too expensive...

Purchased to replace another Sony (DAB) clock radio. The radio seems quite sensitive for fm reception despite having only a wire aerial. The tuner control however is quite coarse and tuning can take a while. The alarm reset is small and recessed into the case so tuning the radio off can take several attempts. But for the money it represents good value.

I bought this to replace another Sony clock radio. Unlike my older clock radio, this model only has one alarm, instead of multiple, which you can set to either buzzer or radio. The single alarm is a downside for me. The alarm buzzer starts out quiet and slow, then gets faster and louder, which is great, but it does not get as loud as I would like (definitely quieter than my older Sony clock radio). The quiet alarm volume is a big downside. The radio reception seems strong, and the speakers have good sound. It came pre-set for the eastern time zone, and all I had to do was select my time zone and it automatically adjusted - very cool. I like the simplicity of the product. I just wish it had a louder alarm buzzer and the option to set more than one alarm.

This machine has better audio than ICF-C318 but everything else is worse, particularly the fiddly controls. We had to return our set because of farcical decision to market the device with battery installed. Our battery was dead and we were put to the trouble of reordering and returning it to supplier. Sony's in box instructions tell purchaser to take it to nearest Sony agent for replacemen battery. The 'agent' said they only sold TV's and refused!

Sony has always impressed me. They make great products for everyone. This radio alarm clock is great for my needs. I needed an alarm clock that was reliable, it doesn't get more reliable than Sony. I like the built in FM radio which makes for a nice sound when waking up instead of an old fashioned buzzer, but that is an option if you prefer. Overall, I'm satisfied.

The soft wire antenna is a bit clumsy . The battery doesn?t work so it?s got to be plugged in at all times making it not portable. I bought it mainly as a radio. The alarm clock feature is a bonus

bought this last week to replace previous sony clock radio which had lasted 36 years, had read reviews and thought quality brand, however when trying to go to sleep was aware of a constant low humming sound which is really annoying, to the point I had to disconnect the item. I will be returning to store once i am able to get to supermarket to replace with different model

Neat item on the bedside table. Easy to set up, and reset the radio alarm each day. Sound is a bit muffled, but clear enough. However - it has a pungent smell, not too noticeable during the day, but with the bedroom door shut overnight, it is overpowering, and gave us a headache. We stuck with it for about 6 weeks hoping that the smell would wear off.

I am delighted with this radio clock. It is small and compact so that it doesn't take up too much space on my bedside table. The digital lights on the numerals can be increased or reduced easily, and it was a warm orange colour. The radio volume was great! Enjoying my radio clock!

I had been looking at this product for a month and weighing the cost at the same time. Though technically it may seem not on par with other more modern products but it had a sleep function and was simple to operate. Two things important to me. I have had it for about a month and it's serving me well so far. Even my wife, says this is what I needed.

Have had this clock for about 6 months and it is great. Keeps accurate time, adjusts to current DST automatically, and has an easy to read orange display. Priced similarly to competing models that don't have a radio. Really a quality product that has better features than anything in its class.
