I've had this clock radio for 5 months now and it has worked great. I just had to post a rating after reading all the misinformation being posted here. I have the Ipod touch (latest one) and the iPhone 4. Also have the Classic. Old or new, they all dock & play perfectly on this device. The Touch is so thin it has a sloped docking slot which makes it difficult to line up on any docking station from any manufacturer- including Apple! So you can't just slap it in as you would a classic iPod or iPhone which are thicker. Problem is Apple's design; not Sony's. Just be careful & line it up with the plug, press down & you are in business. It charges & plays just fine. iPhone4 works fine with it too & it is easier to dock. Sound is great for a radio this size. Just wish the iPod played as loud as the radio. It is a bit lower. Button functions take a bit of getting used to but actually are logical. Just be careful when handling the radio. It is so compact it is hard to avoid hitting a function button & turning on/off an alarm. Takes a while but I learned where to grab it when I want to move it or set it. There is absolutely nothing wrong with the brightness either. I use the brightest setting & trust me, it doesn't light up the room. Not even close! And there are 2 lower settings besides, so these complaints are totally unfounded.

I bought this item because it is advertised being compatible with ipod 5th generation. It is NOT! My ipod does not fit in the docking. One SONY representative said it needs an included adapter. No adapters were in the box and I have not been able to buy the so called required adapters from SONY. Another SONY representative said that no adapters are needed and my ipod should fit!! Moral of the story, DO NOT spend your money on this, if you have an ipod 5th generation.

This is the perfect clock radio for my desk at work! Small footprint, easy to read clock, sounds great! I love that I can listen to my iPod or the radio, or just charge my iPhone, while I'm listening to the radio. For such a small radio the sound is really great, appropriate and ideal for work!

I was looking for a clock radio for my iPhone and found a lot of good ones but they all had at least one feature not included, like remote or separate volumes for alarm and regular play, etc but this little unit has everything. Sounds good as well.

Does this alarm clock work with the IPOD Gen 6. I already bought one not realizing you don't get a IPOD Gen 5 any more ... Please help!

We wanted an alarm clock that also plays an IPOD but with a remote control (our IPOD is ancient and the central button no longer works) - but we wanted it to look like a clock rather than the IPOD being so central. I love the fact that the IPOD dock is hidden when not in use as well that you can still play CDs - not to mention the versatility of the clock itself with the dual alarms. The remote is also just the right size button wise. My husband loves it so much he bought one for his desk in work. Sound wise it is not fantastic but heh - it is an alarm clock.

I shopped for a new clock for 2 weeks and this was the best looking one. I'm a big fan of Sony and my last 5 clocks were Sony, I'm disappointed. The clock display is too bright, even on the lowest setting, to have within arms reach of the bed. And that's were you need an alarm clock right? I have to turn it away from the bed so I can't see the numbers. Today I'm trying to cover the face with a dark orange colored adhesive photo gel. The slide out tray feels rickety and fragile. Even with a OEM iPhone 3G adapter inside, the docking pin is difficult/finicky to insert and remove from my phone. The OEM dock which came with my phone fits perfectly so it's not the phone. I worry that a $70 clock will damage my $300 phone.
