Nice upgrade. My 17 year old Sony 52 inch XBR LCD, which was top of the line when purchased, was still working great and I was happy with the picture and my Klipsch sound system. Sony builds them to last. This 65 inch Bravia 8 II is more like having a movie theater in our bedroom. I enjoy watching movies that I have seen before because I am watching them in full cinema mode. The picture quality is truly amazing. I am not using the Klipsch because the DAC unit I bought, and returned, just made popping sounds on the speakers. However, I am pleased with the sound that comes from the TV. The screen is the speaker. Voices are clear, the sound effects are good. I may do a Bravia sound bar and subwoofer later. I like the Google operating system. It is easy to set up, customize, and navigate. My Apple TV device, which was great on my old Sony, is hooked up but not being used. I like the Sony remote better than the Apple remote. It is better for forwarding and backing up the video. The side inputs are easier to access on this one vs my old Sony, when you have it wall mounted. The tech for TV is progressing to movie theater levels, which is nice, because I cannot stand the noise and distractions in a public theater. Now, if Hollyweird would just put out better content, the woke stuff is disgusting and unwatchable. It was easy to mount. I bought a USX full motion. My wife loves it too. She convinced me to upgrade. She is smart! :-)

So far so excellent, a week out of the box. Getting used to the various options and controls but visually it is awesome. Watched a movie and a football match in HD and UHD - stunning. I love the way black comes across in movies. Sound is terrific with the inbuilt behind screen speakers. Still getting used to all the functions but so far, lives up to the hype.

I bought the TV two weeks ago and noticed a small mark on the screen, which did not affect the picture or performance. I returned it to the store and exchanged it for a top-of-the-range Samsung model that directly competes with the Bravia 8 II. After assembling the Samsung and watching a movie, I found the picture quality to be inferior to the Bravia 8. The sound quality on the Bravia 8 was also noticeably better and did not require a soundbar or subwoofer, which is another piece of equipment to manage. The TV menu interface on the Bravia was far slicker and more intuitive. I also noticed that the Bravia's ability to download and access movies was much quicker and more seamless than the Samsung. Although the Sony is priced higher, it is clearly the better all-round TV and worth every penny. Another drawback with the Samsung was the separate external box/docking station, which is very large and cumbersome to deal with. I much preferred the integrated docking solution on the Bravia. If you are looking to buy a TV and feel spoilt for choice, you cannot go wrong with the Bravia. It is undoubtedly the best TV on the market, you get what you pay for.

Amazing colour and picture and nice to see the UI is cleaner than my last model. Only gripe is the annoying way it turns blank for a few seconds when changing between modes.

I bought this Sony Oled 65 8ii based on tech reviews and that I am a consistent Sony buyer. I have been really pleased that straight out of the box the TV produced engrossing images using the pre-set Professional setting. This was a change from previous LED tv's where I have spent some time achieving the right imagery for me. The sound from TV is quite exceptional and only beaten by my surround system. It would be 5* but the cheap remote, the limitation to organise the home page and, as I mounted the set on the wall, the in-accessibility of the inputs. It would have been better to site them on the under front side.

The TV itself is excellent, and I've always trusted the Sony brand. However, I'm extremely disappointed by the decision to pair a premium, top-of-the-line Bravia 8 II with such a basic remote control. The remote is how you interface with your TV-constantly, multiple times a day. It's effectively an extension of the television and the primary physical touchpoint of the entire experience. With a premium product, that interaction should feel premium. Sony isn't just selling technology; it's selling an experience. This is where that experience fails. The included remote lacks a backlit keypad, a feature that has become standard among competitors at this price level, and it also lacks any "find my remote" or audible locator feature, despite how easily remotes are lost. For a flagship TV, these omissions are difficult to justify. What makes this worse is that this decision doesn't feel like it came from Sony's Japanese headquarters. It's hard to believe that a design-driven organization known for craftsmanship and attention to detail would knowingly risk downgrading the perception of a flagship product by cutting corners on something as fundamental as the remote. Instead, this feels like a U.S.-style cost-efficiency decision-saving a few dollars at the expense of the customer experience. You may feel that a lower rating is unfair, but from a customer perspective, what feels unfair is selling a top-of-the-line product and pairing it with the cheapest remote possible. A rating reflects the entire experience, not just the panel quality. When that experience is compromised, the rating reflects it. As a good-faith gesture-and frankly as an apology-Sony should provide every Bravia 8 II owner with the remote this TV actually deserves: the TX920U or an equivalent premium model. Asking customers to spend an additional ~$90 to correct what is clearly a poor product decision is, quite honestly, a joke. This TV is a serious investment. The decision to ship it with such a subpar remote undermines Sony's premium positioning and erodes trust. Because of this, the Bravia 8 II does not deserve a top rating. Sony can-and should-do better.

An upgrade from my old Bravia, both in screen size and picture quality. One of the issues I had with my old TV was the light levels on live UHD sport. This is not an issue anymore and I am really happy. Very easy integration with my Sky Box and sound bar( would have liked more details on new sound bar offers).

I love it more & more each passing day. The image quality is superb. There isn't a single TV on the planet with good sound so won't go there. The voice command feature is very welcome & I would really be amazed if this could extend beyond google OS & include third party apps such as tidal, bbc iplayer, sky etc etc

Got this 3 weeks ago sound by itself it's good and the ability to cast is good with the eARC able to get hi fidelity audio from my Heston 60 sound bar cheers, only wish the remote was backlit like the previous model

Overall happy but not ecstatic. Setting up was OK - instructions could have been far clearer. The TV stand makes its position too far away from the wall - now I need to make it wall mounted. Can't get Bravia Connect to work. I am wondering whether I made the right decision here or should I have purchased the LG equivalent

The one star is for Sony after sales Support. My previous 18 month old Sony TV failed with stuck pixels and Sony would not do anything to help, sighting that the product is out of its 12 month warranty.

I bought this tv during Black Friday sales, and I'm so pleased with my purchase. The picture quality is stunning, with inky blacks, it's a huge step up from my Sony edge lit LED tv.

So I'll start off by saying I absolutely love this TV. I had originally purchased a quantum Vizio, but after setting it up and seeing the picture quality I returned it. I started looking at various LG, and Samsung sets, but after discovering the Bravia 8 II I decided to go with Sony. Upon setup of the Bravia 8 II, you will notice how heavy it is, this to me shouts good build quality. After getting it set up, I did not connect my surround sound, because some reviews mentioned a particularly weak sound-I would not say the sound quality is bad at all. The technology going on there obviously works because I had to double check my surround sound was not connected. Obviously bass is on the lower end, this is why we surround sound. Once I did connect my surround sound, I was blown away at the difference in quality between the Vizio I had just returned, and the Sony. The UI is much better than I expected, and I haven't experienced any lag, or dropped signal issues. Picture is the best I've seen in a TV so far in life. There are movie scenes where you almost feel like you are in it. Words honestly can't do it justice, you have to see it yourself to fully appreciate the excellence of picture.

I have only had the Bravia 8 for two weeks now, bought to replace my 10 years old Sony XR. As hoped and expected the picture quality is superb, truly several steps up from my old TV. I am very impressed with the speed and quality of the Sony/Google control system, being an android user really helps with, getting the apps loaded and working. I am looking forward to getting to know all that this TV platform can do, plus watching all my favourite shows/films with stunning clarity.

The TV is fabulous, one thing though, I had expected more brightness, but considering it is mainly used in the evening, it is not a big issue. Movies, sports? all good. Have not tested gaming yet. Would recommend.
