I'm a stickler for detail so after I let my TV warm up for about 20mins I got to calibrating it with AVSH LCD calibration. I tell you, what EXCELLENT quality, such rich colors, deep blacks without loosing contrast and brightness! The sharp video images it produces are crisp and clear, without a doubt. I also connect my Mac via an HDMI cable in order to watch Hulu or Netflix. One might think 720p is subpar with today's standards... if you think this, you're mistaken!

I was looking for a bedroom t.v. and this was absolutely perfect. I am in awe of the beautiful picture and the sound is not bad, of course I don't turn it up real loud. It was a great investment.

The 1st thing I noticed about this TV is that the technology is so refined, there's no pixel-ation on moving images so they're as smooth as they are a tube or plasma based set. The automatic 480p versus 720p signal sensing works like a charm so the TV seamlessly switches between 4:3 and 16:9 ratios automatically depending whether it sees a standard or high definition signal as you change channels, when a standard definition commercial airs on an HD channel, and when a wide screen format transmission comes over a standard definition channel so you never have to look at a picture stretched horizontally. Sound quality is adequate, but could stand a slight improvement. It does have audio out ports to connect to a stereo system or home theater. I wish it had a S-Video port for connecting a non-BluRay DVD player versus an RCA plug based NTSC video cable as DVD picture quality would probably be better with S-Video. Now for the shopping part. As of this writing, EVERY retailer (chain or otherwise), EVERY on-line store, EVERY seller selling it New on ebaY, and even SONY direct on this site is slinging this model for $399.99. I got it direct from a SONY store in one of those outlet malls for $359.99. Bottom line, if you're looking for a 32" flat TV, you won't go wrong with this one.

this is my first HD TV and i am not let down i know people who spent 2000+ on a TV and TV picture quality is the same how ever watching TV right now is not same quality as PS3 or DVD (through the DAV-DZ170 system which pairs with TV perfectly) since i haven't got the money to upgrade to HD direct TV so TV shows are lacking the vibrant picture quality this TV is capable of

After my first HDTV (A Vizio Plasma TV) died, I was in the market for a replacement. Since plasmas don't come in 32 inches anymore (and I really don't want a billboard in my living room), I was resigned to buying a TV with inferior picture quality. While shopping at Wal Mart, I noticed this thing actually had better picture quality than anything on the floor, larger plasma sets included. My only real complaint is the setup menu is a bit hard to navigate and cryptic. It took me the better part of a day to get the set 'just right', and it was a fight to the end, butI was finally able to get a picture quality that was way better than my old Vizio. Yeah, it's small potatoes, but it is something Sony deflintely needs to work on. All in all, a great set once you figure it out.

For under $500 I got an excellent 32" LCD with a 5-year, SHIPPING INCLUDED, service plan. Most companies were offering only 2-year plans and some of those did not include shipping. Performance-wise its all Sony. It works very well, setup was breeze. It worked with standard cable and even located the additional digital channels. I haven't checked to see if it will locate broadcast DV channels or not. There are a few negatives. First its 720p, though on a 32" set that is less of a problem. The remote really only controls the LCD. It would be nice if it could control the DVD, VCR, etc. The other negative is that it lacks enough bass. You have to crank up the bass all the way to reach an acceptable level. Volume does not seem to be a problem. The truth is this is one of the few LCDs that you can buy without fear for around $500 when you include the service plan. Though its cheaper without the plan having 5-years of Sony standing behind this product makes it probably the best deal on the market for a 32" TV.

For $50 more than the off name brand I got this with a 5 year warranty directly from Sony Style. I thought I could give my money to a retailer or to the manufacturer. I chose to go directly through Sony. Great picture- the blackest blacks and brightest colors.

First off, for the money you will not find a better tv. The picture and colors are superb. I play MAG on my PS3 and all I can say is wow. The shadows and lighting that this tv can display are nothing short of amazing. Seriously why haven't you purchased this tv yet. Note... Make sure to set tru color to high in advanced settings.
